Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Dec 2, 2012@rapidvids: This plugin (latest version) works fine with tekkit 3.1.2 I can't tell you why it doesn't work for you...first suggestion would be console logs. All I can do is confirm the plugin works great on my tekkit server.
@bigscary: Is there a permission available for allow/disabling siege mode? Ie if I have a pvp optional server and want the pvp groups to siege...can I do something to prevent siege from being used on non-pvp group members?

Posted Dec 2, 2012I’ve seen at least two cases of players managing to claim 1×1 areas near other bases, mainly to screw with them. I don’t know how they did it, but I figure they managed to find an exploit so I’m reporting it here.
Yes, I’ve checked my config and min claim size is still 10×10.

RM tools and the like have a bug because of the way they are programmed. in short they destroy blocks they same way as world edit, plugin authors can't do anything to prevent it. Patches have been made to fix the problem, it require a modification of the EE mod. I have it on my server and it works wonders.
Look at this link for the patch of the EE mod.

Obviously not, it's called disabled the "other" plugin if you want Grief Prevention to work right. bigscary isn't going to modify his plugin because of another plugin.

Posted Dec 2, 2012We've been using Grief Prevention on our tekkit server for a few months without any problems until yesterday. We have red matter tools banned, basically because of how quickly they can destroy the landscape. Well yesterday some griefers found a way to get around the ban, illegally obtained red matter tools, and then ran around blowing big holes in spawn. Spawn was protected by an admin claim. And yet, even with this protection, the RM tools destroyed it. I thought this plugin was supposed to be tekkit friendly now... Does anyone know of a grief prevention tool that prevents RM tool damage?

Posted Dec 2, 2012Someone pointed out a very minor thing that this plugin seems to overlook. It does well to prevent anyone from placing water above ground, except in the event someone places and breaks ice. Very minor, and doesn't do any damage since water won't flow into claims, but still there in case there was a specific reason you didn't want water above ground (I can only think of land-griefing by water)

Posted Dec 2, 2012I'm using the last version for 1.2.5, and I wonder if there is an easy way to disable just the "claims" feature. Seeing we are a small group, that don't really need this feature.
Checked the config file, but I see only the viable option to be removing the worlds. Is that the correct way?

I agree that it's annoying when a player logs into your world, kills you, and logs out - never to be seen again! But hey... that's Minecraft. My philosophy regarding Minecraft can be summed up in one easy sentence; "Do unto others before they do unto you!" ;)
There's already plenty you can do to warn away any would-be attackers and stop yourself getting PK'd by noobs. I've never been attacked by another player when I'm out and about and I have my wolves with me... all +30 of them. People seem to run like hell in the opposite direction for some reason. (LOL!) :D

Posted Dec 1, 2012Hey, first of Great Plugin!
Second, I have a problem :i
We've been using your plugin with great pleasure for a long time now, in a survival mode world. Now, we've given our users access to another world, that is Creative, and to better control who is building there. They need to claim before building.
The problem is, that when we(as admins) or they decide they don't want the claim anymore, and abandon/delete it. It makes a carpet of one layer of stone and one layer of grass deep into the air of where the claim used to be. Our Creative world is a flatland, with a 3 blocks of dirt to bedrock.
I hope you can help out on this, as it is really annoying having to go clean up all these floating carpets of rock and dirt.

Posted Dec 1, 2012Hey bigscary, so I thought of something today. I enabled siege mode and noticed that everyone became isolated, nobody wanted to teleport anyone to them. Would be really cool to have a "truth" feature where a player can type in a command, for example, /truth <player> and then that would ask the other player to type in /truthaccept. Once both players agree, pvp between them is disabled and so is siege mode. This feature would actually be worth it, because there are those very dedicated griefers that might take their time to become friends with other members just to be able to teleport to them, kill them, take their stuff and never log back in. In a sense, this is itself an anti-grief feature that would fit with your plugin. I know you're gonna say what if they just truth everyone on the server, well maybe you can set a configurable limit of how many people you can have on that list, for example 3, or 5. This feature is also helpful because Minecraft is played by mostly kids that can be easily tricked into combat.
