Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Love GP and I am using the dynmap plugin for it.
I would like to have admin claims that are owned by a fake user and hidden from dynmap. I dont want to hide all of my admin claims from Dynmap however. Is there a way to achieve this?

Posted Sep 23, 2012I'm thinking of having the database moved to MySQL. Would it be faster? I'm holding a 300+ slots server with 14000+ claim data file currently.

Posted Sep 23, 2012This shows that players should not be able to access a lever/button etc, but are able to. The only perm that I have in this test setting is "griefprevention.createclaims". The config setting "PreventButtonsSwitches: true".
Running Tekkit and Grief Preventionv5.5.1

Any other ideas? I'd be happy to post my permissions setup, however I am sure that I'm not added to the trust list, I'm not OP'd..

Posted Sep 23, 2012@LeChuuck "Then my next question would be, how do you give someone access to your build aka let them place and destroy blocks but not access to containers?"
I wouldn't do it that way because allowing players to build & destroy on any claim(s) means they can also destroy any containers within those claim(s). I'd put my containers in another location where nobody has trust access.
You might want to take a peek at the /SubdivideClaims command to see if it gives you any ideas of a way to do what you're trying to achieve.

I think most admins do this just for the region flags. i do it but with regios. i let GP handle the protection of blocks and subdivisions for plots in town .. then use Regios to disable monsterspawn etc
We can always hope that some nice developer makes an addon to GP's API to handle flag

/trust gives all access to all areas to open doors, gates, trapdoors & containers, use furnaces and workbenches, use buttons and levers and of course build and destroy. Be careful who you give /trust to. ;)
/containertrust controls who has access rights to your chests.

So I posted a ticket on the TerrainControl github and this was the response:
Most likely, Grief Prevention uses an world.getSeaLevel() call. Bukkit doesn't provide a world.setSeaLevel() call, so this is also a bug in Bukkit. Bukkit simply always returns 64.
https://github.com/Bukkit/CraftBukkit/blob/master/src/main/java/org/bukkit/craftbukkit/CraftWorld.java#L1001
Maybe someone should create a feature request at leaky.bukkit.org?
Is this the case with Grief Prevention? If so can we talk about an option in the config for custom Sea Level? Something like:
Custom Sea Level: True
Custom Sea Level Value: 65
Just an idea. But the ticket for Bukkit is something I will add when I get a chance.
Thanks.

But worldguard does this. It's foolish to claim territory with grief prevention and then claim same territory with worldguard only for the "fire-spread deny" flag. For more efficient region search would be nice to store all claims in quadtree.

That's new, and correct. :) It's the defaults for Tekkit servers. It won't have any impact on a non-Tekkit server.
@voodoo12334
It's expensive because EVERY time a flame creates another flame, we have to search ALL the claims on the server to see if the new flame is inside a claim, so that new flame can be cancelled.
@JSmoove98
Like voodoo described, the claims only start 5 blocks deep. The claim would only go deeper if the claim owner digs downward into the cave, or builds in the cave.
@yurikoma
No problem. :) The player commands don't require any permissions, and they're listed on this page. The administrative commands do, and there's a table of them on the Administrative Details page.
