Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Sep 10, 2012I love GriefPrevention. But after playing for a few days I decided to build a quarry. Thats where I figured out that with GP installed my quarries wont build frames. Any solution to this?
FACTS 1. Not in a claim. 2. In the wild. 3. Works in single-player. 4. Works without GP. 5. [BuildCraft] is op'd.
Must be a config issue.
EDIT- Fixed. [BuildCraft] was added to admin group, but not op'd in op.txt So I got my GriefPrevention Back :D yay

Heya:)
Yeah it works with server restart to unban player but that's not ok, not even reload. Can you make it when i do Unban to reset your plugin too. Or at least to configure timing how long player is banned? I have feeling that plugin somewhere still remembers last IP used and ban that player again, again... lets roll:)
I have nasty and very annoying bug: I have protected areas where people build (Castles) with walls.
However people just place blocks underthem selves, the block dissapear, but they are able to jump very high and jump over the wall. How can I fix this ? I cannot make the walls higher that they're already it will be ugly so I need some Plugin/Config sided fix. Or its just tick issue because player actually every time place block but plugin erase it? But not in time im afraid :/
Cheers, and seriously this plugin in problem solver at many servers.
many thnx for all :)

Posted Sep 10, 2012Hey, I have played on a number of Tekkit servers that use this plugin, and I absolutely love it.
My fiancee and I recently decided to start our own Minecraft/Tekkit server. We bought from BeastNode and for whatever reason, I simply cannot get this plugin to work. BeastNode uses some kind of program called BukGet to load and run its plugins for Tekkit. I don't know if that's the issue. I also tried using FTP to add the JAR file to the plugins directory, but no success.
I tried with both the 6.2 and the 6.4 JAR files, both on their dedicated Tekkit server, and my own personally hosted Tekkit server, and neither one seems to work.
The odd part is that the plugin files DO seem to be there, as /adminclaims does display the message about clicking to claim spots, but using the gold shovel doesnt actually claim anything, nor does my stick tell me a block does/doesnt belong to anyone.
Is there something I'm missing? I really want to use/enjoy this plugin for my dedicated server. My host is of no use in this matter. I'm using the 3.1.2 Tekkit server, if that information helps any.

Posted Sep 9, 2012For some reason, OPs can't view the containers (chests, furnaces, etc...) inside of a protection.
When i right click a chest inside of a protection, it comes up saying "You don't have <player>'s permission to use that."

Posted Sep 9, 2012Hi,
nice plugin and really handy but there is one issue we have with it, it calculates playtime from every world we have and we are only using the plugin for smp world. At the moment people in our creative world accrue blocks too but we rather have the time spent inside the smp world to be the criteria for gaining blocks. Is that intentional or a bug?
Thanks

Posted Sep 9, 2012Could you see if you can make it so the diamond blocks produced when the first corner is set disappear when the player cancels the selection(equips the shovel)
Also found a few typos in the messages...in the default messages.yml for buysellnoconfigured it says, "...buying anhd selling...". Also, when a player types /trust with no arguments it says, "...Graants a player...".
Keep up the great work man! :D

If you mean Transporter by frdfsnlght then I use the same plugin. I've never had any issues between that and Grief Prevention. They work flawlessly side-by-side on my setup. ;)

Transporter lets you also use portals to the same server and even across worlds but also allows you to make portals to connect servers and also to have cross server chat.

@Praqoon
Haha. :)
@coletam
I'm pretty sure I fixed that in my latest update (just now). I'm not 100% sure, because the problem comes and goes. I have to wait and see if it's truly gone. If you see it again after updating, please tell me, and also /reload will probably fix it for you.
@LiteWarfare
Go to the "creative rules worlds" list and remove any survival mode worlds. If your playres will be in creative mode, you DO NOT want to allow them to build in unclaimed areas. Griefers would use their unlimited blocks to make a massive mess daily for you to clean up.
@higigabob
Sounds like I need to add this "Transporter" thing to my soft depends so that it will load before GP. Next version. I kinda wish Bukkit would put in something so that some plugins could label themselves as "world loaders" so that they'd be loaded before everybody else and I wouldn't have to update my plugin every time some guy thought he could best multiverse.
@tentonaxe
You can't. It's coming later. For now, just protect more than you need. There's no harm done.
@Jeanzl2000
Deop that player now. What you've done is allow quarries to operate in ALL claims. That means a griefer can set up a quarry next to somebody's house so that the quarry takes the house apart.
GP is already as compatible as any plugin can be with Tekkit. Tekkit is broken, though, and doesn't always play by plugin rules. If you want to be able to run world-changing machines inside your land claims without allowing griefres to use them to wreck your house, then you should contact the Tekkit mod authors. There's absolutely nothing I can do on my end - Tekkit has to stop bypassing Bukkit.
@DrFusion
Because WorldEdit's regeneration is broken and dangerous. GriefPrevention's /RestoreNature is safe. It's a very technical conversation that I don't want to get into, but I hope you'll trust me on this. There are many good reasons for me spending weeks on coding /RestoreNature rather than just copy/pasting what WorldEdit has.
@joachime
Sorry, this Transporter thing is new. I'll have to add support next version.

I too have problems with GriefPrevention noticing anything but the three default worlds:
world_xx
world_xx_nether
world_xx_the_end
For the other worlds I get the following error message in Terminal window:
There's no world named ... Please update your config.yml
Even after updating the config.yml
I am using Transporter for travelling between worlds.

Hey I figured it out! Okay So First you need to type this /op [buildcraft] and while in your claim you type /trust [buildcraft] Quarries work! Also so when tekkit goes 1.3 you will make the config tekkit compatible?

Thank you very much. That helps out a lot. I think I will do it permission based. I do agree permissions are a headache, but once you get them configured properly, it makes everything so much easier.
