Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

See the section titled "Player Command Reference" above. All the commands are listed there for giving all kinds of access to other players on your claims.
Not quite sure why the admin's themselves can't use dorrs, buttons, etc. Did you setup the claim(s) using /adminclaims mode? If so, any administrator should be able to setup and modify permissions within that claim.

Posted Sep 7, 2012I love this plugin, but is there any way you can implement a feature to resize or limit the size of the claim vertically? This is the only problem I have with the plugin when someone makes a claim it extends vertically from lvl 0 all the way up to 256.

Hello Could You Please tell me what I should edit? (It would be cool if you included a tekkit compatible version with the settings for it to work with tekkit to be all ready set-up so you dont have to answer this 100 times a day) Like more info than to identify the blocks which should be treated as containers and exploded (nuclear reactors, etc). I'm sorry but I have fallen in love with this plugin and so have all my players but they complained people are able to open their tekkit chest.

Posted Sep 6, 2012hi bigscary hope all is well and going ok. ;)
I'm gonna throw one at you here because, other than testing it myself which I think I'm going to have to do anyway, I'm wondering if what I'm about to ask has ever been attempted/tested and (if so) what the results are/were. So, here it is... What could I expect to screw up if I had an existing DEFAULT map with lots of player claims and changed it to a LARGEBIOMES map using the same seed?
I've been asked the question by one of my admins and I'm pertty sure the map will grow but any claims will remain at the same coords as the old map. Correct? :D

Yup i did that 1000 times, but seems griefprevention still remembers IP. And ban me again. Only solution to get in was to restart server, and manual delete banned nick in txt. or /pardon as creator said.
I wish theres /gp reload function here so i can flush noted IPs and if its possible to configure IP time.
Cheers, and thnx :)

Anti swearing plugins are a waste of CPU cycles. They're incredibly easy to dodge, for example a player could type something like "go fuk yourself" or "go f.uck yourself" to get his point across. Many plugins have tried to implement a reliable swear filter and failed (they're still available though).
If you go shopping for one, look for one which changes the "bad word" to a "good word" but sends the original message to the chatter, so that the chatter doesn't know he's being censored.
@Jeanzl2000
Yep it works with Tekkit, you need a Tekkit-compatible version (compat with Minecraft 1.2.5). I think 5.5.1 was the latest. You have to configure it, though, to identify the blocks which should be treated as containers and exploded (nuclear reactors, etc).
@Grimmli5
Yes, that's detailed in the administrative details page.
@bman01
The plugin already prevents that, but you have to have it in creative mode. Check your config file and make sure your creative worlds are listed under "creative rules worlds". Under that rule set, a player can only spawn monsters or animals or other entities (minecarts, paintings) in a claim if there aren't too many already. Further, any entities which wander out of a claim will automatically disappear.
@TJW28
You need to do a file contents search for files in that folder which contain the name of your deleted world and delete them.
@ha11oga11o
All bans are permanent unless you /pardon. Then your IP will be taken out of the list as well, so you wont' get re-banned. The reason for your trouble is that you're using a plugin to manage your bans when you already have /ban and /pardon by default from Mojang.
@bman01
That's a different thing. That's for allowing players to mention a specific IP address in the chat without being muted. :)
The second thing is a cooldown for login for not banned players. His problem is that he banned himself and now he doesn't know how to undo it.
Thanks for the help!

Posted Sep 5, 2012@MarkovicZeljko: "And any way to exclude local IPs from detecting it, or IP range perhaps?"
I am definitely not the expert here but maybe the config key value -
Spam.AllowedIPAddresses
A list of IP addresses which you allow players to send via chat. Normally, all IP addresses are muted to prevent server advertisement spam. You may want to add the IP addresses of other Minecraft servers you run, or your Ventrilo/Teamspeak server, and so on.
Possibly the other config key value pairs can help you as well:
Spam.BanOffenders Spam.LoginCooldownMinutes
1. Looks like if you set Spam.BanOffenders to false it still kicks them from server 2. Then set the LoginCooldownMinutes, then they would be kicked and not able to login right away? Thinking this would still allow spam but much slower. 3. Check out the public api, I am doing this as well for my other question below.
I am just throwing it out there to try to help and maybe someone could elaborate with some other ideas.

Posted Sep 5, 2012Hello,
can anyone tell me how do i unban player sooner? is there any chance to cinfigure time how long someone is banner?? Thing is that i was testing something inside LAN and now i cannot enter server.. IP is 192.168.1.xxx .
is there command how to unban Owner, or at least to configure temp ban time to 2-3 hours?
its really frustrating!
I did /unban player and delete file in plugins dir for specific player... but when i want to join... got disconnected from server, and 2nd time i got "IP" message.
Now im looking into rig 1 meter away from me and i cannot to connect to it.

And any way to exclude local IPs from detecting it, or IP range perhaps?
Many thnx for this awesome plugin, were using it and its best so far, but need minor adds or they are there but i cant find them.

Posted Sep 5, 2012Hi Bigscary,
Great work on this plugin, it is awesome. I see in your To Don’t list that you have “prevent monster spawns”. I was not sure if that was to prevent just natural monster spawns? What about creative user monster spawns? I have some users where in creative they spawn like 100 mushroom cows in your house and / or throw eggs till your house turns in to a hen house. Any plans on adding such prevention for that? Is this something I should be trying to figure out by extending your API? I have never made a plugin so I am hoping for the latter. Totally loving this plugin though.
Thanks for your time, Bman01

Posted Sep 5, 2012Hi Bigscary,
Still loving the work your doing on GP, amazing.
I do however need some advice. We've recently done a clean up of our worlds, and have removed a couple. Obviously, because the worlds no longer exist, and GP had "data" stored for them, it reports this to the console on Boot up. I have removed these worlds from the GP config file, thinking this would help, but to no avail.
How can I safely removed the data for these worlds? Looking through the ClaimData folder, I have around 1,500 files to look through.
Thanks

Posted Sep 5, 2012Hi, i really love this plugin but, are there permissions for how much the different rank can gain? Example: The default rank can only claim 100 blocks and gain 10 blocks every house and when they have reached 500 they can't get more, then the a higher rank like: Builder or something can gain up to 1000 or something.
Thanks in advance.

Hey I had a question. I am running a small server for my friends and I wanted to see if this plugin worked on tekkit. I know the Tekkify server uses this awesome plugin and I was wondering if there was a tekkit version because people can open my macerators and other non-vanilla stuff.
