Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Hi RemyPas, I don't see anything that stands out as incorrect in your gp config. I would be interested in seeing your permissions for groups. Without that info to I can only make this theoretical statement/guess/response. I read somewhere here in either the above info or in admin details about players going negative if automaticnewclaimradius was larger than initial block amount players have. Now either you have this happening or possibly this next idea/theory of mine.before I conntinue I wonder /need to know, "is it new players without claims yet going negative, or is it existing players with established claims going negative?"if it is the first type then I think its a permission issue. If its the second type "existing claim people " then I wonder if its because they had an initial claim with a chest and now that u set it to -1 for autonewclaims that they somehow were deducted 81 or the9x9 area of blocks. I don't know if any of this is possible as the culprit as I'm just making a deductive guess. I will try to reproduce it later today. One without perms and one with perms. Please post or link your perms for us all ok. Hope to help.

Hi MCZq, I believe Grief Prevention does what you asked for concerning permissions but uses "public" instead of "all".

Posted Aug 16, 2012Hi Bigscary,
I have noticed a small non critical issue that may confuse some people.
Scenario: I am an Admin with "/AdminClaims /ac" ability. I have claimed an area as a regular player or "/Basicclaims /bc" mode also. Lets say as a player on the server I have 99 blocks left to me personally. Now any time I "/SubdivideClaims /sc" an adminclaim Griefprevention informs that I can share with /trust. Now If I resize the Subdivision with my Gold Shovel it informs me I have 99 blocks available. It also does it when you abandon an admin claim or subdivision with /abandonclaim, it reports back the claim blocks I personally have left, the "99", even though I have unlimited blocks in Admin Mode /ac.
I know it's not a big deal because everything is working fine but it may cause people to believe there is a malfunction or they have a setting wrong, or they are not allowed to have unlimited admin blocks, as a new user of GriefPrevention might conclude.
Here's a Screenshot of the chat.

Hi SlyNine, I believe it would be " /ContainerTrust public " not sure. I could be wrong... But I do know that if you just make an AdministrativeClaim where the spawn is everyone will have access to buttons etc.... but won't have build rights unless you set /Trust public, then they could build but not claim...
Bigscary and All correct me if I'm wrong... :)

Posted Aug 15, 2012Hi there, we love this plugin :)
Issue: From version 5.9 dispensers in creative mode are roughly 549314% broken. Sorry I cannot provide much more useful information but there is some serious issues that seem to be half random - but in general they do not work. Confirmed by running no other plugins other than GreifPrevention. Tested inside small and HUGE claims, and also outside.
Feature request: /trust "ALL" /containertrust ALL /AccessTrust ALL. Some people enjoy making public things, tracks for example.

Posted Aug 15, 2012I have a question about admin claims that i have noticed. Are people without trust/container/access permissions to an admin claim supposed to have full access (eg. chest, levers, buttons) to the admin claim besides build access?

Posted Aug 15, 2012I have an issue with a lot of players reporting negative blocks. This has occurred after the 1.3.1 update.
Currently running GP version R: 5.9 Bukkit: 1.3.1_R1.0
Beneath is a copy of my config.yml
The only change I made was change the AutomaticNewPlayerClaimsRadius: -1 to prevent the first chest making a claim (Guests on my server don't get claims yet)
Can anyone figure out what might have gone wrong?

Posted Aug 14, 2012Tekkit Failing!
@bigscary I attempted to run Grief Prevention on my Tekkit server. Everything seem to work fine with the commands except that when I pull out a stick or golden shovel nothing happens. I even put the item codes instead. I am not sure if this is a result of Tekkit or a version of CraftBukkit that is run within Tekkit. Also when I place a regular chest it does not make a claim. Is this a result of LWC or being an admin or just Tekkit again. Last, to still keep my server safe from griefing but still allow Tekkit what do you recommend for the mod section. With best regards, DeadTigerZombie PS The server I am running this on is mc.mineraicraft.com

Posted Aug 14, 2012Theoretical question:
What happens if a player in the nether creates a nether portal, and the game tries to create the matching destination portal in a claim? Would the portal be cancelled? And what would happen to the player teleporting?

then something must be wrong with my file.. Because when i go to set blocks it tell me "you have 98 blocks remaining" I will give it another shot here soon. But even if i get it working for myself the problem lies with players in game not being able to Buy or sell Blocks

Why not just use the /AdjustBonusClaimBlocks or /acb command to give yourself more blocks?

Posted Aug 14, 2012I had heard GREAT reviews on this plug in from the owner of Fallen Lords. so I decided to test it out. Sadly to say I am not a fan of it.
While the concept is amazing and very easy to use the system for me does not work.
I own a server (so of course i am an admin) Yet I am limited to the blocks i can claim? That's fine ill go into my Config.yml file and change it to where I can buy claim blocks... i set the price at almost every price from 5-500 and still when i launched the server the .yml would change its self back to the stock price of 0.0 not allowing me to add blocks.
Okay instead ill increase my initial block/blocks per hour. Nope once again when i launch my server the file gets changed again.
So here i am leaving my minecraft AFK for days so i can Accumulate enough blocks to protect my spawn, shop, home, info rooms, etc which is time i could be spending playing.
Like i said the concept is great the idea is simple and easy to use and I WISH I could use this plugin but sadly I can not.
Any help at all and I mean ANY would be much appreciated.

Posted Aug 20, 2012You can't. This is an anti-grief plugin. In addition to grief prevention, you can add WorldGuard for making a specific area pvp-free. Just make sure you restrict worldguard so that only admins can use it.

Posted Jan 15, 2014You cannot use GriefPrevention for that. I use factions, and what you do with factions is /f claim [chunks] safezone
