Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Jan 30, 2012Freshly downloaded, 5 minutes ago, deleted EVERY other plugin, ran the server, generated this config file.
Making it impossible for me to disable Spam Protection, causing my users to frequently get banned (leading to other side effects that are really pissing me off but I don't blame you, I blame my idiot server users)

Posted Jan 30, 2012Hey guys, I discovered an issue late last night with 1.6 running on the latest recommended craft bukkit build. I didn't have time to investigate and fix, so use 1.6 against CB recommended with caution. I'll run yet another test pass today to look for more issues. Specifically, the issue I noticed is that placing a box doesn't automatically create your first claim like it should. There may be many more issues.
EDIT: I see on the bukkit.org main page that this issue is known in the current recommended build:
"BlockPlace event is returning AIR for all blocks associated with the event. Do NOT update. Expect a new RB soon!"
So there you have it. Not my bad after all. :) Get the new build (1.1 R3), and you should be fine.
@cvxx7q:
Yeah that pistons bug was one of about 10 I found and fixed yesterday.
@mrcheese:
I'm checking into it today.

Posted Jan 29, 2012nevermind, updating didn’t fix it.
Spam.Enabled doesn’t auto-genereate in my config.yml. If I just add in the Enabled: false will it still disable it?
Either do Remove Floating Treetops or Regrow Griefed Trees.

Posted Jan 29, 2012I spend all day (the past 10 hours) downloading updating plugins, and going through and getting my server set up.
I come to here to look at how to set it up, and find an item in the config that wasn't there before. I am about to make a post saying "SUCH N SUCH ISN'T IN MY CONFIG BUT ITS IN YOUR ADMIN DETAILS PAGE AHHHHHH"
then I see you updated this plugin, today, since I last downloaded an update.
FUUUUUUUUU
On a plus side I like this update so Now to go through the hassle of getting the new config to generate.

Posted Jan 29, 2012Hi all, claim subdivision is in! That means you can build "towns" now, where you desigate plots where tenants have higher permissions than elsewhere in the town. For example, you could create a subdivision around a workshop you've built for your residents, and give them permission to use the boxes and crafting blocks there without also giving them access to all the other boxes in your town. You can also create plots where you give specific players build permissions so that they can build their houses, without worrying about them building outside of their plot or damaging others' homes.
To get started, use /subdivideclaims. To delete a subdivision, stand inside it and use /abandonclaim. Like top level claims, subdivisions may be resized by right-clicking their corners with the golden shovel. Have fun!
@cvxx7q
Not going to do a door auto close thing. If you want an auto closing door, you can already build that in Minecraft (without plugin help) by using a pair of buttons or a pair of touchplates to operate the door. No need to give players redundant tools. :)
@crazyivandefrag
Resizing claims have been in for a few versions, now. Right-click with your shovel at a corner of the claim.
@Mako_Shark
Sorry, allowing for fire to spread even outside of claims is a problem, because griefers will set fire to forests just to make wood harder to find.

Regarding your admin mode trouble, I wasn't aware of any bugs there. I just double-checked in the most recent version (1.6) to ensure it's working correctly. Some thigns you can check:
1. Use a piece of string to verify that you actually created the claim. If you tried to create a 5x5, it should have failed because the minimum size is 10x10.
2. If that's not it, make sure those other players aren't also ops. Only ops, and players with griefprevention.adminclaims permission should be able to edit in an administrative claim.

yes fire is disabled worldwide, it can only be used on obsidian and netherrack
it is possible to protect claims from external fire (and disable fire in claims as it is now) but its something that will require a fairly large amount of work/testing and then griefers can burn down ur entire world (xecept the claims) so i doubt it will be added but however it woul dbe nice for fire in claims, and i already addressed this also not likely to happen
Quote: Big scary: The suggestion about allowing fire that starts in a claim to spread within that claim is not a bad idea, but I won't implement it because it's too difficult to test completely. Fire is extremely dangerous to allow to spread in any case, and doesn't spread predictably (like lava), which means I can never be totally sure my code is right.

great to see its working, it is quite strange,
this is already planned feature from the start, it will be in the stable non-beta release
EDIT: i think it is somewhat likely that this release will be delayed, because of the new stuff coming to Minecraft soon
if it comes out within a week or so it will delay this plugin, bigscary already got enough work... XD

Not sure whats happend but just tried again with a friends account and now
its working...how odd...no real clue what caused it last night to not work. but its working now...
if it crops up again ill try to see whats changed to maybe find the root of that issue so we can squish it.
Ps love the plugin. fix it so we can just resize the claim instead of abandoning? and redoing it? would make it a 10+ plugin then :)

well i think even if you have not set it up for Bperms, Bperms may be delegating your OPS wrong, can you try running without Bperms? (copy and loopback?)

Posted Jan 28, 2012hey bigscary i remembered something else from other protection plugins, when they "lock" the doors etc they also make them auto close (so the player doesn't leave them open) how does that sit with your plugin?
