Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Jul 11, 2012Just had an idea for a possible addition to your To Do list.
A bypass permission for the auto-delete claims feature after inactivity. I'm not sure I'd need this personally, but it could be useful for larger servers that like to auto-delete claims. Perhaps give admins or donators the permission so their claims never expire until deleted manually.

I have been all over MCF.net recommending your plugins. Especially GP, but I have told a few about anti x-ray and population density as well. Keep up the awesome work and thank you!

Posted Jul 11, 2012I have to ask. You say no database yet you have a plugin that is to track/block/allow/deny access to so many variables, how are you accomplishing this?
We run a server of thousands, with anywhere from 40 to 80 online at any time, all accessing thousands of variables at once.
We love the intent of this plugin but cannot reasonably figure out how you would reduce "flatfile" lag without an SQL link or a binary code system.
enlighten us on this factor and we would LOVE to try this out and see what we can reduce.

I just made the spawn area an admin claim which solved the issue. Not sure if that affects the way you are renting plots. I made the spawn area a village with rentable houses using other plugins.

Posted Jul 10, 2012I love this plugins and want to keep it on my server. However, I have one problem using this plugin with worldguard. I'd like players to not be able to claim in the spawn(although they can't build) but I have a World Guard renting system going on, if they keep claiming the plots, we'll not be able to rent them out. Thanks

I am also having this problem with enderman. I have it set so they cannot grief, but I've seen them walking around with what are clearly my blocks (stone brick, bricks, etc). Haven't found any holes though.... so maybe they are allowed to hold it but not actually grief it?

When you make a claim it automatically extends to the world ceiling. The default distance down is 5 blocks, but is changeable in the config file. Set it something very large to have claims automatically go to bedrock.
Note: If you leave the default of 5 blocks down, this is just where the claim starts. As soon as you alter a block below that, such as digging down for a mine, the claim automatically starts extending downward.

Posted Jul 10, 2012Was just wondering, when you create a claim I'm gona guess it automatically has some height? (The video shows the player placing the corners on ground level. If that's the case how high up does the claim extend (and down if it does)

Posted Jul 9, 2012Is it possible to configure a maximum number of claim blocks for a given player group? We have donator ranks on our server, and it would be nice to have "tiers" of claim block limits. For example, a "Builder" (our lowest rank with build perms) would only have a maximum of say 400 claim blocks (or a 20 x 20 square), while a Supporter (the next rank up) would have a cap of 800 for example. Is this possible?

Posted Jul 9, 2012Hey all, if you love this plugin but aren't comfortable with donating money, please consider popping over to minecraftforums.net or your favorite forums site (look for a server administration sub-forum or category) and recommending this plugin to others - just tell them why you like it better than the other options. This will help get the word out, so that other servers and their players can benefit from my work.
Thanks very much for your continued support!

Sorry, no. Hands full right now just trying to finish the non-mod features.
@Xarniia
I think you'll rarely have a need for something like this. I know I've been running a server for six months and never found myself in a situation where I needed to know (maybe you're just curious?). Anyway you can check a player's claim blocks by opening his player data file. Add the first two lines together. But this would be too tedious for a top 10 list, I'm sure, unless you programmed something to calculate it. :)
Of all the permissions, I think probably /ignoreclaims is the most powerful and should be the most restricted, because there's no logging for it (it's too expensive). So if a bad guy had that command, he could wreak havoc and you'd have a hard time catching him, unless you also installed a world change logging plugin (ick).
@DevonCWoodcomb
If a player can resize a claim, that means he can unclaim another player's land (by making the claim smaller, or moving it somewhere else). So the two operations are equivalent, and that's why I don't have two separate permissions. Resizes and deletes are logged, so if you suspect anything, you can find evidence in your logs.
@DevonCWoodcomb
On the admin details page, read about the "creation requires permission" config option. By default, no permission is required. But once you enable that config option, there are some important details you'll want to read on that page.
@HamiltonSam
Are you on the latest version? Since you are the only player, use /deleteallclaims <your name>, and try again. If that doesn't work, delete your claimsdata folder and /reload. I'm not sure what your problem is exactly, but my guess is you accidentally created a small claim somewhere and it's getting in your way. When you get the error message, look around for netherrack and redstone ore blocks. Those should appear to show you where the existing claim is that's in your way.
@Trey303
No, explosions will not destroy your build. Not even a TNT cannon. I've been getting a lot of requests for mod support, but I'm just not there yet.

Posted Jul 8, 2012What are the permissions to allow users to claim areas? I can't find them anywhere in these pages.
And I would request that you make 2 different admin permissions for deleting claims and resizing them. I don't want my staff running around giving free area to their friends. I trust them to only delete the correct things, but not with resizing.

Posted Jul 8, 2012Is there already a command to see how many blocks someone has claimed? If not this, and a top10 command could be a nice expansion.
