Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Jun 4, 2012We installed the plugin, config: http://pastebin.com/bwTRvLEi We run it with plenty of other plugins, incl. Residence. (Which is failing, so if your works, it will be replaced. It ran for 20mins, and then a timeout followed. No errors in log, no strange commands. Just the server sinked into deep thoughts and had to be force restarted.

Yep, it's annoying. You have griefers to thank for that, because they love to dump water all over the place. But players should be claiming their fields, anyway. Otherwise griefers will wreck them.
@modulateddreams
It doesn't work with the earlier version? I don't know how it's a problem for Tekkit to fix. I'm just saying I have my hands full with Vanilla minecraft. Maybe Tekkit could register that player as a real player somehow? Even then, it sounds like a bad idea - then a machine built by anyone could make changes to your claim, which sounds like a griefing opportunity to me. I think CVX is right - it's best if the machine is associated with the player who built it, so that the owner's permissions will be used to determine whether or not the machine is allowed to do something.
@lambik
There's an extension plugin for that. See link above.
@Dutch_Boy
You're talking about disabling siege in your non pvp world, right? Yeah, just don't list the non-PvP world in your siege_worlds config option.
@leiger
It's enabled to prevent a player with multiple accounts from spamming the hell out of your server with enter/leave messages. I also don't like the side-effects of this solution. What if I auto-disabled it until enter/leave messages are coming very rapidly? Or maybe I should just disable enter/leave when they start coming fast, until they slow down again... that's probably a much better solution. I'll get on that after localizability.
@stgram
I'm going to need some information. Like, any information.
@Feaelin
Players only get a free chest claim when (1) they have no claims and (2) they're placing a chest in an unclaimed area. I explain this as "your first chest" because it's easiest for everyone to understand that way.
Nope, no events.

Posted Jun 4, 2012You're going to learn to hate it when I'm washing dishes because that's when I think about the technical details. So another question:
I was skimming over the API and wondering there was a way to capture a some 'events':
* When a new player gets their first chest claim.
* When a first chest claim "decays" (e.g. gets deleted due to inactivity)
* When a claim is created
* When a claim is abandoned/removed
* When the player accrues more claim-blocks
I'm playing with different ideas at the moment. I've no complaints if any (or all) of these aren't available. :)

Posted Jun 4, 2012So I was wondering what happens in this scenario:
New player logs on and a current player lets them build in their claim (either via a simple trust or subdivided claim trust). Of course, while the new player builds, they place a chest.
Does GP count that as their first chest?
It seems to me the ideal behavior is that GP behaves as if they haven't placed "their first chest" until they've placed one outside of any existing claim.

Posted Jun 3, 2012There seems to be no issue tracking system available, so I'll post my request here.
Essentially, I'd like to disable the delayed login/logout messages that were introduced in a recent update. Until then, I'm pretty much forced to continue using an older version of the plugin, or switch back to something else (e.g. WorldGuard).
The delayed login/logout messages annoy our users, and we keep getting requests to disable it. It also gives the impression to new users that the server is extremely laggy (taking so long to realise that they've logged in).
Therefore, my request: Give us the ability to disable this "feature" via a config file option.\
Thanks, leiger

you'll need to talk to the tekkit author, or get them to get in touch with bigscary so they can hammer out an agreement/work together

thats the problem right there, the tekkit machines register their actions as a "fake" player named "tekkit", ideally, you need the machines to use the "creators" name so if i made a machine it should register all its actions as "cvxx7q" not as "tekkit", otherwise i'd have to trust "tekkit" in my claim (possible work around) but then everyone can plant machines in your claim because they all go by "tekkit" as a username

comes under "real estate management" so it won't be implemented (bigscary has said this before)
however if there was a big enough push and a developer willing to look at the GP API it could be done ;)

How is that a question for tekkit?
Grief prevention is whats stopping them from breaking blocks. Its thinking it a user without trust.
Grief prevention even creates a player data file for industrialcraft, but doesn't give the ability to "trust" it. Do you have no idea on how we would be able to make this work?
Anyone else running a tekkit server with this issue or know how to fix it?
Also big scary is there a chance you can back port the most recent version of grief prevention to work with CB 1.2.5 r1.3?
