Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Apr 28, 2012Umm, i generated new worlds to use with Multiverse, and added the world's name to config.yml, but it keeps saying:
[INFO] GriefPrevention: Error: Claims Configuration: There's no world named "creative". Please update your config.yml.
The world that is loaded from server.properties is 'world' (it has a nether)
But because i want to use Multiverse, i've added another world called 'creative' (without nether)
Last but not least i've added every world in Grief-Prevention's config.yml.
Unfortunately, the warning doesn't disappear. Is Grief-Prevention not multi-world compatible? :-(
(this was tested with the latest CraftBukkit RB, Beta and Dev-build @ Java 6)

Posted Apr 28, 2012Hey BigScary, I'm experiencing an issue with trusting people to claims. They seem to become untrusted after a while, Only tested this in one claim, and only in the subdivisions of that claim. I believe, though I am not certain, that they will lose their trust status on a server restart. I went into the plugin files, and found the claim's file in ClaimData. It appears that their trusted status is not saved here after I set them as trusted. I'm not sure if it is supposed to save to file immediately or not, so do not know if this is unusual. Is anyone else experiencing this? Possibly arisen after a recent update, and again I've only noticed it inside one claim (which I use to cover my cityregion, given subdivision to players for shop plots).

Rather than just disabling fly, god, gamemode in siege. Could it work like chest access and building does? So that when you enter pvp mode, those things are shut off, if on, and also disabled so they can't be used for the duration of pvp combat.

Posted Apr 27, 2012@cvxx7q ..well it's true, and it's a server/op command. It's still a bug that should be fixed as any op or in game player with the perm node can use that command. From what another plugin dev showed me, it's not hard to add it.

Posted Apr 26, 2012This is an awesome plugin, thank you!
I'm curious if it's possible to add optional disables to the config. Such as, fly, god, and gamemode whenever a siege is started. Most servers I've been on don't allow fly pvp'ing, neither do I. It's totally not right to be in god or creative mode and then siege someone when you can kill them and they can't possibly hurt you. Nor the other way around. If someone gets sieged, they shouldn't be able to enter those protective modes the same as they can't teleport or open chest.
Thanks again

This is normal. TNT can't do damage in any claim. Place by the owner or not. Even placed next to the claim. It will damage around the claim, but not in.
I use a plugin called CreeperHeal that restores TNT, creeper, and more Damage's. Very cool!

Well I can understand that frustration, but allowing anyone to build overtop a claim is a big problem, because a griefer would build something big overhead to block out the sun, or just to dump lava or water on top of the build from above. Or, build a giant sky penis above the house. You get the idea.
@mtjaxter
It's not my problem to fix Tekkit. Tekkit needs to play by the general game rules - associating the right player with each block change. Then GP will be compatible.
@krisdestruction
Add what now?
@retricide
Get the PlayerData for that player, then check getAvailableClaimBlocks().

What's the problem you're having? I don't see any errors in your logs. Your player data files look okay. Yours is just a lot longer than the other because you've created many more claims.
@Noirdrath
That's intentional. If TNT exploding inside a claim were allowed, then griefers could use TNT cannons to "push" live TNT into a claim, thereby blowing up the protected blocks. So TNT and creepers never do damage to claimed blocks.
@mrcheesete0
Thanks, Cheese. :) No, I won't add that. See to-don't list above. See also FAQ. See also public API.

not in the cards, simple as that, if it were to be added, we would have to play back-to-back games of 52 pick up (ask any prankster :P )
@krisdestruction
half-assed incentive there..

Posted Apr 25, 2012For the API, how would we go about checking if a player has enough blocks for a claim? Is there an explicit method to do this?

That would defeat the purpose. The point of the sky limit is we don't want griefers building stuff over my claim. And we've heard that having two claims that intersect vertically is not in the cards for this plugin.

Can you please add it? I hook this up with buycraft and it's important to run console level commands. The money from buycraft goes from donors to the server admins and eventually to plugin developers if there's still some left.

Posted Apr 25, 2012Hey, I haven't run this on my 1.1 server... But I have a Tekkit 2.1.1 server I just started up, and it uses bukkit 1.1 R4... Is there any chance you could make a version that runs on that? I know that's a HUGE request... But I'm sure there's probably other people that use Tekkit servers that want to use your plugin on it as well :)...

Would it be possible to allow the sky claim portion to act the same way as the digging claims? (increase in size as you dig from inside... conversely increase upwards as you build upwards?) and set a default extension height?
My players started building a sky-rail system and navigating around people's "invisible" claims in the sky is getting on their nerves hehe
