Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Posted Apr 6, 2012BigScary, when I get lightning strikes in my claims fire forms and since it can be placed on anything, GP doesnt allow it to burn out. I tried disabling/enabling fire spread and damage but it still happens. Any ideas?

Posted Apr 6, 2012Great, only one question, how can users claim more then one area. For example I want my players to be able to set claims that are square or rectangle, is that possible?

Posted Apr 5, 2012Do you think you could make the pvp part separate? I love the pvp logger prevention, but i just don't want to have to force my users to switch how they protect their stuff.

No, you can't change them. But the gold/glowstone is only seen by players temporarily, and only for the player who's using the tools at the time. They aren't actually placed in the world, so most of the time no one will see them anyway.

Posted Apr 5, 2012Hi there. I'm impressed by the plugin and it seems like the perfect solution I've been looking for for the survival world on my server. My players are very enthusiast about it to. But one of them asked me if it was possible to alter the gold/glowstone to a different material. I'm order to fit the looks of the world more.
I've looked through the info and config file. But I dont see such an option. Is it a possibility?

I don't want to home-cook my own unique help system that will be different from the help in other plugins. When a problem space is as ubiquitous and important as help functionality, solution consistency is paramount. I'd rather you all used the standard Bukkit help or selected a very well-designed help plugin. Your players would then have a better help system than I can provide, which will deliver a consistent help experience across all the plugins you have installed.

I couldn't reproduce it with 3.1 against the recommended build, but I coded a little just to be safe based on a hunch. What do you have your claim block accrual rate set to? Also please note that the "5 minutes" is based on when you started your server, not when the player logged in. The player has to be at least three blocks away from the place he was standing the last time GP checked him for idle.
@zathrus_writer
Yes Zathrus, I know that players don't generally have the skills to code plugins themselves. But many of the admins who request features do have those skills, and I intended to motivate a few rather than offend. I'm sorry you took it as an insult rather than encouragement.
Thanks everyone for coming to my defense. :) But I have a no-drama policy in the comments here, so I've deleted that discussion.

How about the other part of my request, if we can't do /gp trust etc I can under stand, it does make the commands longer....
But what about just a /gp command that lists all the other commands you have access to?
I like what you did with the trust command, but I would love to see a full GP help.

Thanks a lot! Your plugin continues to amaze! One of my server users told me that they used lava to clear out a forest but not how they did it. Since i am on vacation and on a limited internet connection i can't test how they did it myself right now, but i will get back to you as soon as i've figured it out :)

Posted Apr 4, 2012I estimate I've spent 360 hours of my free time over the past four months coding, testing, and discussing this plugin with you all. I've written about 6,400 lines of code. While my time and dev effort are "free" to me, quality testing takes money out of my pocket. Adequate testing requires me to run a public server and advertise it a little to get a wide variety of players onto the server, especially for the PvP features. If you love this plugin, please consider donating any amount via the blue link above! All donations go to support and advertise test servers for this plugin. Thank you all very much!!

Posted Apr 4, 2012Hey guys I really need help testing the siege PvP stuff. Even if you're not into PvP, please consider playing on my test server a little. Even having a few players online will help me retain other players, who leave otherwise just because there's nobody to fight with. Thanks!

None that I know of. I still need to document. That may be holding some folks back.
Technically the DynMap thing is an extension, I guess. But since it was released before I created the public API, my guess is that he's just accessing the files directly rather than going through my code to read them.
