GingerSnap
GingerSnap
Abandoned.
Yep. Abandoned. Deserted. Cast aside by its creator. Not due to the Bukkit DMCA thingy (because face it, we're all still gonna use Bukkit), but because I started writing this mainly as a means of bringing myself up-to-date on development methodologies and whatnot. But if you think you're up to the challenge of maintaining my source, go for it! Have fun, and may the Force be with you.
What is GingerSnap?
GingerSnap is an extremely lightweight utility plugin for Bukkit, much like Essentials. So why shouldn't you stop reading now and stick to Essentials? Essentials is designed to be extremely flexible and feature-packed, however, they do this at the cost of one of your most important resources: RAM! Think about it for a moment. Essentials is always running listeners in the background, even if, for example, nobody's online! Now, couldn't all that RAM be used for better things? (Yes, it could!) This is where GingerSnap comes in. GingerSnap is designed to run with a minimal memory footprint, running only the necessary background processes, and only when they're needed.
Development of GingerSnap is centered around you, the community. Need something implemented on your server, but can't find a low-footprint plugin that does what you need? No problem! Just submit a ticket, and if we feel it is appropriate, we will begin implementation ASAP. Also, bugs don't last long in our releases; we dogfood GingerSnap. For those of you who don't know what that means, it means we use GingerSnap as the primary solution for our own servers, which gives us the motivation needed to find and fix bugs. If, for some reason, you find a bug before we do, simply submit a ticket or post it in the comments, and we will prioritize the patching of it.
