This is a transport system based on the Stargate series allowing gates to connect to each other based on a nine item combination.

Posted Apr 12, 2013I have the problem whenever you turn on the gate and go through it on the other it shows that the inactive and when it takes back to the place whence I came, so gate is still hooked and will not stop.

Thanks. No need for screenshots. I'm not as worried about the torches it's the leaking which is my main concern. I managed to reproduce the long distance connection leaking but it appeared to be fixed on my server. It's produced because bukkit unloads the chunk and then doesn't let you know if the block which is changing is actually loaded or not. I'll have to take another look.

Posted Feb 7, 2013@dale2507 The problem was somewhat solved, thanks so much for releasing this I was beginning to wonder if you just gave up :) The first dial I did was a complete success, 2nd dial I tried to a different area, and the water leaked, 3rd dial it was successful 4th dial was successful and 5th dial was successful I think you fixed to the point where we're going to experience the leak rarely but as for the problem being completely fixed, no. also there are sometimes when the torches either don't show up correctly or don't even load at all... I can take a few screen shots if you want :O although what I don't get is, why don't you experience these bugs????

Hello! No need to apologise. Thanks for the bug reports. I've been busy this weekend but shall test some long distance (e.g 10,000 blocks) next chance I get. I believe the signs and leaks are the same problem.
As for the chevron messages, this depends how many items you use in the address. If you use 7 items (in the first 7 slots I believe) it should say engaged for 1 to 6 and locked on 7 (but I could be wrong about locked). Nevertheless I'll take a look when I investigate the leaky gates.

Posted Jan 20, 2013@dale2507 Hello, sorry for bothering you :O But I Thought I'd let you know from what me and my friend tested with this :O when it comes to doing very short distant traveling, the gate works fine... but long distant traveling seems to be the issue, see its weird... when I dial out of my gate and go to his, the sign remains to say "Active" and the sign on the other side "remains to say "Inactive" and even when the gates deactivate, the one you dial out from still says "Active" and when you dial out from that gate, thats when the water glitches and starts going everywhere...
Now I'm not gonna pretend to be a Plugins expert or programming expert, but is it possible that the gates are just getting confused? because despite that the gates are deactivated, the one you dial out from still says "Active" which the gate on the other side still thinks its active... and as soon as you dial out again, the water/tourches glitch.
I don't know, just a thought maybe?
Just wondering, when you dial out, why doesn't it say all 7 cheverons? like I noticed that it will only go Cheveron 1 engaged Cheveron 2 engaged Cheveron 3 engaged why does it go only to 5? why not all 7?!??!!? and on the 7th one say "Cheveron 7 locked"? :O

Posted Jan 16, 2013I love the plugin except I'm experiencing a rather annoying problem... Any time I dial a long distance gate maybe across the world or maybe to another world, the gate glitches... after the gate is deactivated, the water and torches just stay there, the water then floods everywhere. which is a pain in the butt trying to fix. Is there a fix? :/ or gonna be one.

Thanks for the feedback.
I've created a ticket for this and had another go at attempting to reproduce the problem. I tried connecting to a gate in the nether to make sure it was a different chunk but still can't reproduce it.
I've created a jar (in the comment on the ticket) to hopefully provide more information about this. Please could you use it instead of the gates jar and post any error messages you get.

It's not possible to change the material at the moment but add it as a feature request in the tickets and i'll look into it for 1.2 :)
Auto-dial is covererd on the Gate Advanced Options page. Just post again if you have any problems.

first up: I love your plugin! It's the central attraction on my private server! :)
Sadly I'm having some difficulties. :(
As reported before
prevents the gates from properly shutting down and sometimes flooding the gateroom. Maybe it's because the source chunk is already unloaded when you try to clean the chest.
Unfortunately setting this to 2 just fixes half of the problem. Gates always shutdown now, but not always get cleaned up. Water and redstone torches are left behind, not seldom resulting in the already mentioned flooding. :(
Doing a /reload fixes the gates (apparently by activating the woosh for a short time), but most of the time crashs my bukkit (unrelated, he does that...).
A /gates reset command would be a REALLY helpful workaround for those problems.
