Extra Hard Mode
Extra Hard Mode changes the game rules to create NEW, INTERESTING CHALLENGES for players who have mastered the core game. Unlike Mojang's "hard" mode or other plugins' "hardcore" modes which just punish you more for making mistakes without actually changing game mechanics, Extra Hard Mode delivers interesting new challenges for advanced players.

Recommended Plugins
- Make tree logs and branches fall when chopped with GraviTree. Set "FallingLogsDamagePlayers" to true in its config for an extra challenge!
- For anti-grief, avoid plugins that disable explosions entirely, because that will undermine the cave-in mechanic and the new improved TNT.
- Avoid plugins which allow players to teleport themselves out of danger when they're in combat or lost. Especially avoid plugins which add commands like /home, /back, and /tpa, since they will undermine the difficulty VERY much. Consider instead a teleportation plugin like Population Density, which allows players to teleport only between teleportation posts it places on the surface every 400 blocks.
- You might want to look into balancing villagers. Having diamond gear tradable for very easily farmable materials will undermine the difficulty. I use Rebalance Villagers to make the trades harder.
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- Config options that are activated, allowing me to see what people use (or don't)
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish. If you want to see the stats, you can go here

You are probably doing something wrong in the file. Try to paste the contents into a yaml validator (google). Make sure you remove the brackets for the enabled worlds and put it into the same format like the list for the falling blocks.

Posted Jun 1, 2013Whenever I edit the configuration, it ALWAYS resets. I can't even enable it on a world, it just goes back to the Enabled Worlds: []. Is anyone else having this problem?

Posted May 31, 2013For the "Recommended Plugins" section, you should add Hunger++. One common tactic people like to employ to circumvent death by hunger is to simply wait it out while their crops grow. This plugin can prevent that; it can even make food a higher necessity than it was before.
When a blaze explodes on death, could you make it so that the explosion somehow ignores item entities?

It's quite reliable if you have understood how it works and what it's supposed to do. It blocks building while shifting and hovering over the corner, while jumping and when trying to pillar straight up. And yes there is a config option, it's called "Limited Block Placement".
In the next major release I will attempt to include a full ingame tutorial explaining all the features to the player to help them out. Maybe they will understand some of the features a bit better.

Posted May 30, 2013Would it be possible to add a config option to disable the 'unable to build while in the air' check? It seems to be quite unreliable from my testing, and is causing quite a lot of hassle

If you want to make yourself useful and speed up the release you can use my devbuilds and report bugs. That would be pretty cool. You can check all the bugfixes if you look at the closed tickets in the ticketsection, the 3.3 release is going to be pretty big.

I pride myself in keeping this a bukkit only plugin. There aren't any craftbukkit imports at all!

Maybe, but not in the near future as that sounds like a lot of work.
@ok12Boss
Would it be okay if the FallingBlocks are bound to your Player? So if you place a Block in your protected area and you are allowed to break blocks in your area that the blocks will fall? Players without permission won't be able to make blocks fall in the area?
Or would you like something different?

Posted May 20, 2013Would you ever add an option or feature for building physics? Like the expired plugin "physix" I'd love to force all building blocks to have some sort of structure or pillar foundation to hold itself up.

This is a problem with Essentials. It is triggering the PlayerRespawnEvent which I use to determine that a Player has just died and respawned.
