Extra Hard Mode
Extra Hard Mode changes the game rules to create NEW, INTERESTING CHALLENGES for players who have mastered the core game. Unlike Mojang's "hard" mode or other plugins' "hardcore" modes which just punish you more for making mistakes without actually changing game mechanics, Extra Hard Mode delivers interesting new challenges for advanced players.

Recommended Plugins
- Make tree logs and branches fall when chopped with GraviTree. Set "FallingLogsDamagePlayers" to true in its config for an extra challenge!
- For anti-grief, avoid plugins that disable explosions entirely, because that will undermine the cave-in mechanic and the new improved TNT.
- Avoid plugins which allow players to teleport themselves out of danger when they're in combat or lost. Especially avoid plugins which add commands like /home, /back, and /tpa, since they will undermine the difficulty VERY much. Consider instead a teleportation plugin like Population Density, which allows players to teleport only between teleportation posts it places on the surface every 400 blocks.
- You might want to look into balancing villagers. Having diamond gear tradable for very easily farmable materials will undermine the difficulty. I use Rebalance Villagers to make the trades harder.
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- Config options that are activated, allowing me to see what people use (or don't)
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish. If you want to see the stats, you can go here

Posted Dec 30, 2012I'm using Cb 1.4.5.R-0.2. I dont know why, but suddenly cobblestone and dirt blocks dont fall for me anymore. It is also possible to mine stone with a stone/wodden pickaxe. I didnt change anything, and it didnt even give me an error. Powered creepers still spawn, and Zombies/Spiders have added effects on hit. I checked, and those blocks are still configured in the config. Any idea how this is possible?

Posted Dec 29, 2012can you please add a config for pickaxe taking extra damage when mining (i think it has to do with hardened stone config but people in our server likes the idea of the hardened stone which require iron pickaxe to break but they dont like how their pickaxe is breaking too fast)

Posted Dec 28, 2012Please update, this is my best plugin and i need it to update my server to 1.4.6, also i liked the fire work idea a few comments down perhaps you should try to work them in somehow? Oh i know how about when a firework explodes it attracts hostile mobs to the area it exploded in that way if a player uses one then they will be swarmed by mobs

Posted Dec 28, 2012You have to either deop yourself or if you are using a premissions-plugin you can remove the permission "extrahardmode.bypass" for yourself. It's in the post btw, read, it makes you more intelligent.

Posted Dec 25, 2012Hey, Just a little suggestion, I think that if you hold shift while you take fall dammage, it should reduce it by 35% or something. In this case, sneaking would be like rolling once you hit the ground. Maybe it would have to be timed so you sneak right as you hit the ground? I'm not sure... Once you open your sever I will chat with you!

If you want help, please provide some specific details. The likely cause is that you are an op, and so you bypass many of the new rules. Try /deop yourself.

You probably need to disable the "inhibit monster grinders" option. One of the ways it works is by preventing monsters from spawning on top of non-natural blocks like wooden planks, for example. Maybe your world generator is putting more of those kinds of blocks in?

I don't think it's doable with Bukkit alone, sorry. I know some other plugins do it, but they are comfortable with taking a nasty craftbukkit dependency (technical stuff) that I don't want to get into. I think you'll find that players already have a rough time getting started without animals making a token effort at defending themselves. :)

You're probably in /op mode. See above for the permission node you need to take away from yourself (or /deop).

Changing the day/night cycle is a possibility, let me look into it. However I dunno if I really want to make this plugin harder... already it's practically impossible to keep a reasonable number of players on my server given that it's so damned hard. :) Have you not had the same experience?

Posted Dec 21, 2012Does anyone have a working config I could look at? The plugin's not giving any errors and is loading fine, but it doesn't appear to work in the world I've selected. Ghasts still take damage from arrows when I test.
If possible, put a pastebin link on here and I'll see how you have your "worlds" section setup. Thanks in advance.
