Extra Hard Mode
Extra Hard Mode changes the game rules to create NEW, INTERESTING CHALLENGES for players who have mastered the core game. Unlike Mojang's "hard" mode or other plugins' "hardcore" modes which just punish you more for making mistakes without actually changing game mechanics, Extra Hard Mode delivers interesting new challenges for advanced players.

Recommended Plugins
- Make tree logs and branches fall when chopped with GraviTree. Set "FallingLogsDamagePlayers" to true in its config for an extra challenge!
- For anti-grief, avoid plugins that disable explosions entirely, because that will undermine the cave-in mechanic and the new improved TNT.
- Avoid plugins which allow players to teleport themselves out of danger when they're in combat or lost. Especially avoid plugins which add commands like /home, /back, and /tpa, since they will undermine the difficulty VERY much. Consider instead a teleportation plugin like Population Density, which allows players to teleport only between teleportation posts it places on the surface every 400 blocks.
- You might want to look into balancing villagers. Having diamond gear tradable for very easily farmable materials will undermine the difficulty. I use Rebalance Villagers to make the trades harder.
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- Config options that are activated, allowing me to see what people use (or don't)
You can disable the stat collection via /plugins/PluginMetrics/config.yml if you wish. If you want to see the stats, you can go here

Posted Aug 3, 2013My players feel that acquiring and using bonemeal on their crops should exempt them from the crop fail mechanic (only when using bonemeal). I told them I'd pass along the suggestion :)

Thanks! :)
OK, I'v added the mud bricks and cobble bricks and couple related blocks to the gravity list. For now I've disable the hardcore mining stuff, since it make all available picks useless. I'll just cross my fingers and hope the spawn rate changing code doesn't interfer with Just Another Spawner, until I have time to test it. A live / "production" server may be a little ways off anyway, as there are other things to test and possibly (probably) other kinks to work out (which may or may not be relevant here).

In 3.3.3 only the blocks that fall down accept blockids from non vanilla items. In 3.4 you will be able to add other pickaxes and ores to make stone fall. I got a new soundcard and will probably make a video for config options that are not self explanatory.

Posted Aug 2, 2013Most of the config seems self-explanatory, but is there a place with more documentation? I'm wondering about adding non-vanilla blocks and items to it. I'm using MineFantasy and Dungeon Mobs in MCPC+, and thought this plugin would be great to create an alternate "extreme" world. Right now some feature are easy to get around (e.g., player can craft dirt into mud bricks) while others are redundant (players can't craft vanilla tools and the MF stone pick can really tunnel effectively anyway - while I'm not sure the bronze pick would be effected, though I haven't tested it yet).

Hum, redownloading and installing 3.3.3 makes it work (at least there's no error messages). I must have gotten an incorrect dev build and forgotten about it, sorry about that.

I'm pretty sure I am on 3.3.3... Also, your link to the dev builds seems to be down.
EDIT: Oddly, redownloading it seems to make it work. Maybe the download got interrupted the first time or something.

Either use 3.3.3 or update to build 40 if you wantto continue to use the dev builds.

Posted Aug 1, 2013Does the plugin work on 1.6.2? I'm getting an error in my console saying the plugin isn't up to date... (I am on Spigot Build 1049)

Posted Jul 31, 2013I'm also seeing weird TnT issues (didn't seem to be blowing much up). We thought it was fixed (back to vanilla) when we pulled the plugin briefly. I know the other explosions made a mess but they felt big... powerful... real. We really only used it underground on my server though. In any case, I'll help test whenever you get a new build going :)

Those tnt explosions made a mess. I think I will readd them though and clean them up correctly.

All right. I opened a ticket about the error with the dev build. And no, I'm afraid it's not just console spam - it breaks functionality. At least dirt doesn't fall. Didn't do much testing after that.

Sorry. I`m Slowpoke
In Old Versions of this plugin create beautiful animation of falling blocks around TNT explode.
And this blocks are falling in the ground.
In new Ver. TNT explode create only massive hole and destroy blocks around explode. Without any animation of Blocks, which are emitted in different directions :c
Using latest Spigot and ExtraHardMode Plugin.
Sorry. I`m Russian and my English is bad.

Yeah I wasn't really able to pull anything useful from those logs.
@pilvimaa
You should be more specific. There are 2-3 errors that I know of that will pop up from time to time. But they don't break the functionality of the plugin, they just might spam your console a bit.
Btw: I know my jenkins is down again, I don't know how to fix it atm.up again-

Posted Jul 29, 2013I got a horrifying mess of errors in my server log that lasted minutes when we set off 8 TNT. It may be a conflict (with OtherDrops?) but FYI.

EDIT: The OD guy says he knows about it. It sounded like he might be fixing it.

You could nerf torch-crafting via RecipeManager by having the vanilla torch recipe produce one torch instead of four. (Or even changing the recipe itself to something else. You can do almost whatever you want with that plugin concerning crafting.)
But I'm not sure how controversial that would be on your server among your players, and how willing you would be to get a whole plugin just for nerfing torches, unless you want to use it for other things too.

That sounds like a lot of work to do and I would imagine that not many people will use it. Something in the direction of this ticket would be more feasable.
