Standard Installation and Basic Test

Just drop the FoundDiamonds.jar in your plugins folder and reload!

If you're an OP, continue to the next step. If not, give yourself the permission fd.* (You'll give normal players fd.broadcast for broadcasts, and fd.monitor for admin messages and light level monitoring.)

The best way to test the plugin and verify that it's working is to find some natural iron or coal and break it! You should see a message.

>Note: FoundDiamonds does not announce blocks that a player has placed (Unless an OP or a player with the fd.* permission uses /fd clearplaced after placing the block) Note: Only Players with fd.broadcast can see the broadcasts (this plugin requires permissions)

Fixed a bug with the clearplaced command not working for flat file setups
Fixed odd things in the config
Fixed a bug where it was impossible to give out one random item
Fixed a bug where the random item is also given to the person who mined the diamonds...
Added random potions to the config so you can now select which potions to give out (even bad ones maybe!)
Removed potion messages for now and replaced with something far simpler
Added more default potions (night vision is cool!)

Troubleshooting

Is the ore you broke a block that was placed by you or someone else. Do /fd clearplaced?
Is the world you're breaking ores in listed in /fd world list?
Are you using the latest version of FoundDiamonds? /fd version
Are you using the CB build this was built against?
Are you breaking ore in creative mode with creative mode disabled in the config?
Did you make changes to the config and forget to do /fd reload?

If none of the above helped you, it's likely that you have found a bug. Please report the bug along with your config.yml and any errors in the console you may be receiving so I can look into it.

In order to get the plugin to broadcast you need to add a few permissions to the default groups:

fd.broadcast- This just makes it so when the player mines a block listed in /fd bc list it will broadcast it to the world.
fd.monitor - This allows you to 'monitor' the player and will send you admin messages when the player find one of the listed blocks under, /fd admin list.

EDIT: fd.monitor will also check the player for light level violations as well to prevent players from using full brightness cheats

I had this plugin working at once time but since the update to 1.3.2 / FD 3.6 I can not get it to display blocks broken by default users. I do however get a notification when I break blocks as an admin. I do not OP myself but have fd.* set in my permissionsbukkit config.yml. I do not have any permissions set for default group. I have ores listed in /fd admin list and /fd bc list. The world is set correctly. Why is it that I cant see default players breaking ore messages? I wouldnt post this message if I wasnt stumped after trying everything possible for hours.. Thank you for any help you give me.

I was wondering if this plugin could have some kind of xray probability percentage, which warns you if a player found a weirdly big amount of diamonds in a short amount of time. It is very time consuming to review the log daily manually.

Otherwise great plugin!

This plugin can't help you with that.

You'll want an advanced map editing tool like MCEdit.

Check /fd world list - Ensure the world you're in is in that list.

Diamond and Emerald blocks don't naturally occur anywhere, so why would your broadcast them? Sounds like something you'd want for admin messages instead.

I dropped support for the old format using a colon in the latest update, so maybe that's it?

Try /fd bc add coal ore

See if that fixes anything.

Ive had founddiamonds for a while now, and as of early yesterday it just randomly stopped announcing. I havnt changed anything but updated disguisecraft. I have craftbukkit 1.3.2 i have the most recent founddiamonds. I have no errors in my server error log. All of my staff has permission - fd.broadcast. Any ideas what the problem could? Oh and I forgot to add, even i dont see the messages even when i'm op'd. :/ and the guy below me says his are being logged however, mine look like they are not logging them.

problem: no ore founds are shown to me and admins

me (wildcard perm): no messages
admins (fd.broadcast perm): no messages

tried giving all players fd.monitor
same thing also nothing

enabled worlds are set
these finds ARE logged in log.txt, just not in chat

what could be wrong?
