Overview

Follow is a plugin that allows one player to follow another, hands free, on a virtual leash. As the followed player moves about, the follower moves along with him, from a safe viewing distance.

Follow works well with

• invisibility or vanish plugins, such as VanishNoPacket
• compass teleporting, such as found in WorldEdit
• world switching through portals, such as those found in MultiVerse-Portal
• god mode, such as found in Essentials and WorldEdit
• disguises, such as MobDisguise (follow them as a chicken or pig or creeper)

Uses

• Admins - follow a suspicious player to watch his pattern of behavior
• Admins - get screen captures of griefing in progress
• Moderators - spy on a player to collect activity notes to help administrators decide if a player should be banned
• Marketing - make a movie of your adventure by having your "camera operator" follow the other player/actor
• Server Guides - take new players on a virtual tour
• Players - become someone's virtual friend and follow them around while they take you for a tour

Beta Builds

Note that "Beta" builds come with caveats and limitations. Before a build is posted, it is smoke tested on a live server for at least 2 days. It should be stable enough to use and not cause problems on your server, but because it has not had extended run time on several servers with various configurations, anything can happen. If you find a bug, like a NullPointerException, kindly report it with as much helpful detail as you can find, using the Ticket system. If you spend 2 minutes getting version numbers, relevant plugins, actual error messages, etc. it will help me fix the bug much faster for you.
