FLockClient

ATTENTION: At this time I'm not able to maintain this project. If any experienced developer wants to maintain this project while I can't, contact-me.

FLockClient is a small and simple tool to force players to use the server defined .jar, It might be useful to modded server and also can work to prevent hacked clients, forcing all the players to use a clean .jar. A client-side modification is required.

Permissions

Permission	Effect
FLockClient.Debug	Receive in-game debug messages
FLockClient.F3	Access access to the "F3" menu
FLockClient.Texture	Ability to bypass the texture pack lock
FLockClient.hash.<client>	Access to the <client> defined
FLockClient.Gui.Debug	Show debug information on download
FLockClient.ByEmpty	Join the server without the client

Commands

/lc ban - Ban the player MAC address
/lc unban - unBan the player MAC address
/lc info - Show information about a client
/lc list - List players using any authorized client
/lc reload - Reload the configuration
/lc unex - Re-enable the anti-cheat protection

Attention

This plugin is made to work with a client mode that is available here, if you don't use the mod, the server will not recognise you!

Know Bugs

Sometimes the kick message will not be properly shown, this is not related to FLockClient.
Let me know if you find any!

For the client, this is exactly what I've done, and in this order:

Deleted the entire %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft folder.
Downloaded minecraft.exe from http://minecraft.net/download
Launched minecraft.exe
Signed in, and it automatically rebuilt the .minecraft structure.
Closed down minecraft client.
Downloaded latest Forge Universal from : http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge/
Used 7zip and extracted Forge into a folder (I know, you can just open and drag)
Used 7zip to open minecraft.jar in %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/bin
Copied the contents of the Forge folder into minecraft.jar via 7zip
Copied the contents of the FlockClient-Client_1.3/forge folder into minecraft.jar via 7zip
Delete Meta-Inf
Closed 7zip
Copied this new minecraft.jar into the /jars folder server side
Launched Minecraft.exe, signed in, and tested.

And get the "Error File Is Not A File" via server console

Oh.

Just the minecraft.exe launcher from Mojang.

I've inserted Forge into the client, and then FlockClient and that's it. Let me rebuild the client one more time again.

Do you mean how do I launch the server? Or client?

Server, I used two different ways:

One was via McMyAdmin, and it gave the same error.

The other was via a batch file : java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar

... with the same error.

Good, the path is working now, but this error "File Is Not A File" is very unexpected, how you start your game? Like, which launcher did you use?

What is your problem? The instalation is very simple, just like any other mod. I'm not good at making tutorials :c but I'll see if I can come up with one soon.

Working on file download, if a new minecraft.jar is available or the player is not using a valid jar or dont have all mods required, everything will be downloaded from the server.

I'm at work, but had a quick thought...

Would it even be possible to force the client to check if a newer .jar exists server-side, and if so, it automatically updates the client side .jar? If I decide to update my client, I want the option of it autoupdating itself instead of my players having to redownload from my site.

Next, could you include the Forge folders "Mods" and "CoreMods" and its contents into the Hash calcuations to prevent someone from dropping a mod into those folders? I guess that would mean I would need a Mod and Coremod folder server side as well (??).

Instead of the flock message displaying when a client appears modified, could you set Minecraft to just simply close instead of displaying the message? Maybe a setting in the settings file to enable this or not.
