FC_Announcer
FC_Announcer is a highly advanced automatic announcing announcer/broadcast plugin that grants absolute mastery over automatic server announcements. FC_Announcer allows you to create and manage groups of announcements that are customizable by permission, zone, and world. This allows one to specify the exact target groups of announcements. Edit the configuration file or read the one page of help and use commands, either way, the days of undesired announcements are over!
To demonstrate the power of FC_Announcer, I present a perfect example utilizing all of the features of FC_Announcer. Please note though, this is the most complex example that can be given demonstrating all features.
Problem: You want to create a jail where jailed players see the rules being repeated over and over again. However, it is imperative that visitors to the jail, aka non-jailed players, do not see these rules. As well, you have jails in other worlds and you don't want to worry about players in different jails in different worlds seeing overlapping announcements.
Solution: Create your normal announcements that you want. Then you set up the zone for that jail as well as define the worlds. After giving the "Jailed" group on your server permission to see the announcements, you now have a perfect jail that will repeat rules to only jailed players in certain worlds.

Posted Feb 8, 2013Just fork the plugin off to another plugin if you want to take it over you have my full permission. This is my stance for all my plugins now. I want to kind of keep this record here as a kind of historical mark, I guess, for as long as it remains.

Posted Feb 5, 2013It's ok BewilderedHooker. My plugins are generally too confusing for most people sadly, just one of the many flaws that they have.

Posted Dec 17, 2012Yes, I have a solution. I'm going to make a groups.yml configuration file that you can make the specific announcements to.
When I first made this plugin, I was not experienced with Java or Bukkit for that matter to realize I could implement solutions like this. Now that I am much better, I have several improvements that I want to make to my plugin.
I am just busy currently with FC_Rpg and finals week. I'll have time though to do some nice improvements to all my plugins soon.

Is there any way you could make it more easier to decide what groups should see what messages. Right now we have to give permissions and deny permissions etc etc and it can get very confusing...
A list where you decide what groups should see what messages in what worlds would make more sense.

Posted Dec 17, 2012It's not even approved yet. How are you downloading it? O.o. I know that it appears under file, but only if you're added to the project.
edit: Responded to pm. You need to wait for the update to be approved it seems.

Posted Dec 12, 2012If you want to disable the tool set the selection id to like... 999.
I set it to 369, blaze rod, and it works perfectly fine for me. No idea why it's not working for you. I know this sounds drastic but I can only recommend you shut your server down, change the setting, and then reboot.
I updated the link, thank you.

Posted Dec 12, 2012How can i disable the zone selection for bare hands? And is it possible to fully disable the zone selection tool?
Atm in our config:
Setting: autoEnable: true displayAnnouncementsInConsole: true zoneSelectionToolID: 369
But it isn't changing to 369, instead its bare hands now and really annoying
Wanted to make a ticket and contact u as described but the file isn't readable for me

Posted Nov 26, 2012I will soon be releasing builds of FC_Announcer in the 6.0 version number category with MySQL support. These builds will all be beta and I will make it quite obvious they are. Version 5.3 is my most stable version and will remain my most stable recommended version while I complete this beta process. Hopefully things work smoothly. I am probably going to drop support for all versions of FC_Announcer older than 5.3 to clean up my code as well a bit and going to be looking at things to improve and possibly add new features. We'll see what is up. :)

Posted Nov 16, 2012I am happy to announce that I'm going to start looking into MySQL as my next ambition project to work alongside FC_Rpg. When I feel sufficiently skilled with MySQL I'll actually start working with the bukkit API + MySQL and will, hopefully, implement it as an alternative storage in all my plugins.
