Motion Madness

This plugin is the result of fusing 2 of my other plugins "Fast Tracks" and "Fall Damage Savior", and more later additions: provides various player motion modifications based on conditions and permissions.
Basically you can: change speed of players depending on the block below them in various ways, prevent fall damage globally or also in certain blocks, launch players in the direction they're facing, or in custom vectors x/y!

- All features have:
- Total Disabling: you can disable the entire feature, disabled features will not consume any CPU or RAM.
- World Support: you can disable them in certain worlds.
- Custom Block ID and Data: players over this Block ID AND Data Value will activate the effect, speed, deny fall damage or push.
- Fast Tracks (FT):
- You can set various blocks and set them different modes, speeds and timings, to create VIP roads or wathever you need.
- This feature can modify the player speed by 2 modes:
- Auto: Player will be pushed to the facing direction, that can be used to be pused upwards or any direction, cool for parkour games or make fast travel roads.
- Manual: The player will get a custom power and time speed effect, so he can move to the wanted direction instead of being pushed.
- Fall Damage Savior (FDS):
- This part of the plugin provides what it says; protection against fall damage by various ways:
- Disable ALL fall damage sources.
- Disable fall damage on certain blocks.

- Bouncy Blocks (BB):
- This feature lets you place other kind of blocks, bouncy blocks, those blocks will push players upwards by a custom power.
- You can customize horizontal and vertical push power: create elevators, games, player launchers...

- /mm help : shows all commands.
- /mm reload : reloads the config. ( ENABLED! )
- /mm on : turns on the plugin (on by default).
- /mm off : turns off the plugin.
- /mm yes : turns on Fast Track effects just for you (on by default).
- /mm no : turns off Fast Track effects just for you.

Permissions. . . >
- MotionMadness.admin.commands : Access to all admin commands.
- MotionMadness.user.commands : Acess to all user commands.
- MotionMadness.FastTrack.<Block Name> : Access to Fast Track Blocks with that Block Name in the Config.
- MotionMadness.FallDamageSavior.<Block Name> : Access to Fall Damage Savior Blocks with that Block Name in the Config.
- MotionMadness.FDS.global : If the Global Fall Damage is disabled, only players with this node will be affected.
- MotionMadness.BouncyBlocks.<Block Name> : Access to Bouncy Blocks with that Block Name in the Config.
- Example: to give users permission to use "Fast_Road" Blocks you must give them the permission "MotionMadness.FastTrack.Fast_Road"

When i start a server with dozens of plugins i have the same fear... will plugins break with this build?

The manual just adds a potion speed buff, so players can move faster without being pushed.
Change the "auto" in the config for the track you wish to use, or create your own, you can add/remove all tracks you want.

Posted Mar 17, 2013Hi, i was just wondering, as far as this plugin goes, it is amazing. but the only problem im having is switching fast track mode to manual, i dont understand how to make it work, because auto can sometimes be annoying as im using it alongside plotme and the walkways plotme creates. so how does switching it to manual work?

Posted Mar 2, 2013This plugin is going to be fused with "Fall Damage Savior" (other of my plugins), in the update i'll add features to both parts and will greatly increase the resulting plugin performance.
This plugin will be renamed to "Motion Madness".

Well you can enable/disable the entire plugin and also just for yourself, there're tons of plugins for block placing permissions :)

Posted Jan 13, 2013Sounds awesome, but it would be nice if there was a feature that would allow me only to enable ceirtain blocks of the specified type to work, so that only people with an according permission would be able to create a FastTrack. So, basically, place the blocks first and then make them work as a fast track with a command or so.

Posted Jan 11, 2013This mod is awesome. Has been running perfectly fine now for a few days since 2.2 update.
We are using it both for a racetrack, as well as a bit of faster movement on the roads through the city, and anywhere in wilderness with "road" material. The half-blocks work fine too since update.
Great job!
And yes, the jumping is kinda better this way :)

I just tested, the half blocks works, and about the perms you're right, there was a perm check with a weird error and is fixed for version 2.2, here's a link (cause bukkit usually takes 2 days to approve a version and i consider is an important update)

And again, you can't jump while in auto blocks cause you're pushed yo the direction you're facing, if you look horizontally you CAN'T jump cause the blocks are pushing you, if you want to go up, just look up, u'll be pushed (high jump) it takes a bit of practice :) i have my server full of froggy players in some parkour games XD

I'm super calm, just letting you know whats happening :). I wouldn't rule out it's another plugin causing issues either. I'm running the 1.9 version from here on 1.4.6 R0.3. I see it has been updated recently so I'll grab the other one and test again.
Anyway this is the setup:
Like I said, unless a player has all three ft.user.block.# none of them work :(. It all works perfect with block 1 and 2, but if I do simly /pex group X remove ft.user.block.3, both 1 and 2 stop working... (kinda bizarre).
Pressing the jump button while on block 3 (auto) doesn't jump the player (minor nudge is seen). You can't clear a 1 block wall for instance.

WoWoWoW relax, let's see ( XD ): In fact, i use PEX on my server, the half blocks work perfect but thy're only supported in latest versions (1.8+)
Also, if you want to give only perms for 1 kind of block just give the player that number block perm, like "ft.user.block.2", i just tested and worked fine in my own server, (using 1.4.6 R0.3),
Then to jump, you must face the direction you want to be launched, you don't need to jump, the track will launch you in the direction, i have some people recording some videos for the plugin, i hope they get finished soon, try that: put a fast track block, walk over it facing the sky (you'll be launched to there).
EDIT: tested all gain, half blocks, jumps, permissions.. it's all working perfect on version 2.0 and 2.1, if you have problems give me all the info please, block used, power... paste the fast track and pex configs in pastebin please :)

Posted Jan 6, 2013I might have found the issue. If the user/group don't have ft.user.block.1 the other blocks don't seem to work either.
EDIT: Correction, it seems like you need perms for all 3 blocks to use any of them :/
Also, jumping in Auto mode doesn't work - that would be nice to have (to integrate jumps in race course for instance)

Well, thanks for considering :). It was more if it wasn't much trouble for you... Logically I don't see the problem as long as one has precedence over the other (not absurd IMHO) so you can use either or.
I wish more plugins gave us that choice, since half the time you want it in all worlds but a few, and the other half you want it in just a select few. But I'll survive ;).
FYI, half-blocks don't work very well. If in upper placing not at all for me, and you need to jump to make them run in lower placing. Might be out of your hands though (player detection etc).
Also having problems getting permissions to work properly (any issues with PEX?) for all players. I'm adding ft.user.block.1 etc to player groups but it just won't hold for some reason. Works when I'm op, and pex debug tells me the player is either not checked when stepping on or sometimes it can't find the perm. Not sure if its FastTrack or PEX though.
Finally, I would humbly request blocks 4,5,6,7...n to become available. Thanks a bunch!
