What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Posted Sep 11, 2014I happen to be using Factions myself. It's not laggy for me. Profile your server and use timings. Then based on that provide info in case you still believe the plugin is causing lag.

Same thing is happening to me. I thought I fixed it, but it reverted after a server restart.
If you downloaded mcore.jar, make sure you're using the compatible factions.jar, as the latest one is MassiveCore.jar instead of mcore.jar

Posted Sep 7, 2014Well, having problems with Factions 2.5.0, no idea what I'm reading, so I'm going to just paste it here and hope for an answer.

Edit: Nvm, fixed. Removed mstore (but not before making a back-up), mcore, factions.jar, mcore.jar. Uploaded massivecore.jar, factions.jar, started server, replaced massivecore mstore files with backed up files.
Post-edit: Lost after restart.

Posted Sep 6, 2014Yea, I'm starting to think this is the 1.8 Spigot protocol. I have been noticing the lag ever sice I updated and I have the factions Server shut down for now. Too bad we will prob never see 1.8 on here but I'm sure this team here will stay alive.

Posted Sep 6, 2014It works on 1.8 spigot protocol, but the server turns out to have major lag problems, even after a restart. Not saying this is because of Factions, but it appears it's only the Faction server out of 9 of our other servers which incorporate the same plugins.

~Re-installed Java 7 to be sure
~Checked my versions for everything (Factions 2.5.0, Massive core 7.3.0, CB 1.7.9-R0.2)
~Tried running the server with only factions and massive core
I've even went into the code trying to look for the error.
Does anyone have a fix for me?

Posted Sep 5, 2014Hate to say it but this plugin (or massive core) has a bad memory leak causing tps decay over a few days. Only removing the plugins fixes the issue. But ill give you guys a break since you just recoded everything to the need massive core rather the it older version mcore.
Hope to see a new updated build soon of massive core and factions, whatever one has the issue.
On a sidenote prefixes work flawlessly when using essentials with the proper essentials config.
