What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

People, i dont think it works because it hasnt updated to 1.7.8 and they changed the player file format in that update, the latest version is for 1.7.5 not 1.7.8

UGGG why is Mcore not showing up in my plugins! Here's the report:

Well it says its on version 7.1.0 , there is no update avaliable so i am guessing this is up to date? any other ideas i also check console no problems on there : ( intact in console it doesn't say ANYTHING about factions or mcore:

I'm getting an error while trying to use faction banks and MySQL. Namely that MySQL is truncating the faction "names," the IDs that MCore uses as a unique ID number for every faction. Any idea how I might fix this, other than just not using the econ functions?

See console for error messages when enabling the plugin. Also - have you updated go MCore 7.1.X ?

well... ... ... I've had a server for about 4 months now and am expanding it to extra servers, i have opened a factions server. having used the factions plugin before i know how to work it. i have factions and mcore installed alto the plugins will not work... also when typing /plugins - factions does not apear nor does more

I want to use Factions for a server about war and competetive cooperation. For this purpose I would like to utilize the Painbuild-feature that I've heard about in older versions of the plugin. A lot of things have changed since then, so now I would like to know if it's still possible to activate Painbuild only for factions at war and only when someone of both factions is online?

I would assume that you would need to activate Painbuild for "ENEMY", but won't that enable it all the time?

Also, can you still have the cost for claiming land to depend on the number of chunks that a faction already owns?

How can I enable faction prefixes only in certain worlds? I dont want those prefixes for the whole server. Using essentials chat and zPermissions.

I installed Factions 2.3.0 and MCore 7.0.2 and MCore does only create the file "conf.json".

Well, but why doesn't create it more files and mainly, why doesn't it create the "mstore" folder with factions in it?

Factions works perfectly fine on my server, however it hasn't generated any folders. I've even looked inside mcore folder and only found the .json file and nothing more. Mind you the factions is working flawlessy on the server. I cannot seem to find the factions folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

can you add an alias system, the display name of faction name. it is similar to the Custom world Aliases of multiverse core.

the alias has not character limit.

so we can use character such as =&*... and my mother tongue(chinese) to name the faction

Factions works with 1.7.8, you need to update mcore.
