What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Yes Craftbukkit fixes it but factions still need to update. I use safezone to guard spawn and with current factions players can remove items from itemframes.

When I installed Factions.jar & MCore.jar and restarted my server no other plugins and commands worked. Any idea why? (Factions folder does not create also)

You can use a plugin called world guard where you can select certain areas where people can break and where they cant break. Hope this helps :D

I could use some help and any help would be greatly appreciated. My players and I are trying to make a hotel and house. But when we claim, it claims everything top to button. which means they cannot use the hotel. Is there anyway I can claim blocks using worldedit or something or selecting the blocks I want claimed and selecting the ones I don't want claimed? Any help will be appreciated. (I mean that I dont want it claiming from maximum height to minimum bottom mainly)

how do i disable the permissions to do anything faction related? in pex i removed all the permissions from a group ,but they still have all the perms to do everything faction related,helpplease

I am running Factions v1.6.9.3, and I want to update to the latest version to debug most of my current errors in console. My questions is, does the faction data from this build transfer over to the newest build, which I believe is 2.3.0..? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Factions doesn't seem to be working for me, I've gotten more and factions and vault on at the same time but none of the faction commands are working. I have a mac and last year when I had a server It worked fine WITHOUT anything else. Please help if you know ANYTHING.

In the config file there is. I'd recommend you go to their website and read through how to edit it.
