What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

I am getting issues when trying to change the /f home warp from the default 10 seconds. I change it in the mcore_conf instance.json but when I save it, a few seconds later its back to 10 seconds.

Is the the correct place to change it? My essentials config has all warps set for 3 seconds.

We are not using one, the old factions had a config option to show chat names in chat, the new one doesn't from what i can tell.... i tried installing essentials chat to see if it would help, and still nothing

Factions 2 has changed a bunch. What chat plugin are you using? The config is no longer in the Factions folder, all the configuration is in the mstore folder, at your root folder in your Minecraft server. Read the Factions Wiki for more information on how to configurate Factions.

EDIT: Also, /f show is replace by /f f and /f p.

Try /f autoclaim SafeZone. Also, try WorldGuard to protect your buildings.

I have no experience with both of these plugins, but I googled and got a result in seconds. Try setting your chat format to: {FACTION} %prefix%player%suffix: %message'

What chat plugin are you using? And regarding your problem claiming SafeZone, try /f autoclaim SafeZone. Also, try WorldGuard to protect buildings.

Do your players have OP access? Or access to /f admin? If you have WorldGuard, you can set up a region with blocked-cmd: /f claim safezone or something.

what version of bukkit do I need, as I got the newest version of both factions and bukkit and it does not load.

So in the new version of factions, faction tags do not show up next to chat names, and the config no longer has the right settings, http://pastie.org/8181730

/f show also does not work.

@plokijuhy Same thing is happening to me... Idk how to claim warzone either. and when I join the faction "Warzone it treats it like another faction but anyone can break the warzone or the safezone...

When I do /f claim safezone it says "invalid interger safezone" Im using craftbukkit #2812 since im trying to let another plugin work but seriously when I use previous versions I can do /f claim safezone but defaults can still break!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If everyone else is getting this no one cant have their server protected :(

factions expected BEGIN_OBJECT but was STRING

What the hell is this? It randomly appeared and has caused Factions to not be able to load.. what do I do?
