What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

All of this. How did you get 1.6.2 running with factions? Factions seems to just plain and simply not work.

Faction Chat tags are now broken in 1.6.2 with Essentials. Not parsing and replacing {factions_name}.

Faction bank account balances are showing up in Essentials economy functions such as /baltop with unreadable Faction "names"

Mcore is burning up tons of RAM with no discernible improvement in gameplay, crashing the server every few hours.

Configuration is now unnecessarily complex.

Developers seem to be taking a "take it or leave it" attitude

Fairly sure that once you upgrade your database with 2.x that you can't revert back to an old version.

Whoever has problems starting the Server using Factions on 1.6.2 Bukkit/Spigot releases: Please read the full post! Thats not a Bug. Install MCORE to your Server! http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/mcore/files/19-mcore-6-4-3/ (Does not fix other Bugs having with it like Essentials Chat Tags, they will update when they are ready.)

Thank Bukkit for that. They revoke compatibility for NMS, means all Plugins need to update to the new Minecraft Version when Bukkit does also.

No I don't have time for strength potion bugs that give a 260% damage bonus, We're rockin 1.5.2 until that bug gets fixed.

Is there a major problem using an old build of factions.

Im on a pre mc-core build and haven't experienced any issues... Also running 1.6.2.

Guys they just released a dev build of bukkit 1.6.2, Factions will be updated accordingly in time. Just wait...

Updating to 1.6.2 seems to have broken the chat tags in EssentialsChat once again ~~after using '/f' it seems the plugin is actually broken. Thoughts?~~

it is still in the config. look again :) there is a place with container, door, etc and under you can set who can use those, like neutral, enemy, ally, etc

I'm using the 1.8.2 version of factions and I want to make it to where you can open chests in claimed territories. It was in the config before but now it's gone. Any help?

I have this plugin setup on my server along with 20+ other plugins running fine, The only issue I'm having is integrating the factions chat with hero chat.
