What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

is there a replacement for the absence of worldGuardBuildPriority in 1.8.2 config with the same effect?

I have a problem with the latest 1.8.2, whenever i config in the config.jsn file It will always change back to the default whenever i reload it. I changed the econ and the chat to true, when i reloaded it keep on getting back to the default. So I tried to use another version 1.6.9.5 This time the chat work but the prefix is a little mess up, but the econ is not working still. It will be back to the default whenever I changed and reload it. Thx pls help

Hey if i do /f config chatTagInsertIndex 3

it says chattaginsertindex exists

When I download the latest version, it doesn't work with tekkit. What version do I use for the latest version of tekkit?

why is factions 1.6.9.5 plugin conflicting with authme reloaded? You cannot type /login when the factions plugin is loaded.

Peaceful faction is done through the flag system with /f flag now. Also, I added faction chat to my own plugin called LiveChat, check it out if you want :)

Hello i have tried doing exactly what it says for essentials users in the 1.7.5 beta area on what the new chat is like, but for some reason even with {factions_relcolor}{factions_roleprefix}{factions_tag} it shows the prefix and tag just fine, but the relation color does not show up at all it just remains white. Could anyone please help?

unknowingly updated to 1.8.2 via craftbukkituptodate.
downgraded to 1.6.9.5
factions deleted everybodys faction homes.
so i changed the "homesMustBeInClaimedTerritory": to false.
that hack-fixed faction homes so they wouldn't get deleted, but leaves open a nasty exploit.

But NOW my problem is this:
factions keeps clearing my board.json file, which removes everybody's claimed lands.

is the fix from above affecting the board file? is my previous fix causing this new error?
I would like some guidance on this issue.

Thankfully I have a recent backup prior to updated to that ungodly 1.8
my theory for a possible fix:
delete current factions folder. > run factions 1.6.9.5 > in effect makes new factions folder.
merge backups with the new .json files.
will report back if it fixes or not

This stupid plugin. Updates and I lose Factions Tags in Chat. Lose how to do peaceful factions. Ugh. Anyone know how to get peaceful factions back?? And faction names in chat??

I am just wondering why faction chat stopped working I have tried numerous times to fix the problem but I still can't find out what it is! Can someone please help!?

I changed [faction_tag] to {faction_tag} but still it doesn't work.

Also things like faction chat and such :(

how can u make this to show?

ex.

"(faction ->) IIPvPGodII (world name ->) [world] (group ->) [Owner] (name or displayname ->) Blaise49

"IIPvPGodII [world] [Owner] Blaise49"

because everytime i chat then type /f create <name> your faction should show in chat :/

how can u do this?

where did the WarZonePowerLoss go in the config? I cannot find it and I want ppl to keep power if they die in a warzone

Help, I cant get the Faction Tags to show.

the "chatTagReplaceString" does not exist.
