What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

How do I allow faction enemies to build in eachother's territories and use things?

Da faq! I updated this plugin and seted new config! I found vey big bug! Other people can destroy other people factions! WHY?

No I mean I wanted to know the new permission node for the factions bypass command or /f admin. Because I allow my mods to have faction bypass. The permissions factions.admin, factions.bypass, factions.admin.bypass don't seem to work.

is it normal that now, warzone allows friendly fire but i can't change anything about warzone in the config.json?

For the people that wants to use another chat plugin:

[faction_relcolor][faction_roleprefix][faction_relcolor][factions_tag]

Don't forget to set it in the factions config:

That shouldn't be the case by default, but what I'm guessing you're seeing is new people to a faction coming in as Recruits, who don't have access to chests by default. Only full Members do. /f promote and /f demote are of note. You can change permissions for individual factions using /f perm (ex. /f perm SomeFaction container recruit), or change factionPermDefaults in the config (ex. /f config factionPermDefaults container recruit).

Look into how Bukkit handles permissions (in their documentation) and use their built-in handling or use a permission plugin.

Can someone make some detailed documentation for the 1.8 upgrade? My users are quite confused by some of the new features. They can't open chests in their own land unless they are faction officer, which is strange. I figure this has something to do with the new ownership system but I have no idea how to use this since there isn't much documentation on the new version.

Ally means you trust them quite a bit, enough to let them do some things in your territory. Truce generally just means that PvP damage between your factions is disabled.
