What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Right Now i have my world name in front of everything can someone please explain how to get rid of the world name and put the faction tag back?

I wanted [] around my faction tags ion front of the name. It worked but I want the [] to be different colors from the neutral.

When I do this:

chatTagFormat: §b[%s§b]

The colors interfere with the Neutral, Ally, and Enemy.

How can I make it not?

Ok, the factions chat removement is really annoying but I think I can survive xD. In the new access system I see a "but", when you walk on an access modified territory you don't receive a message like before with owners.

This was really helpfully, if you could add it it would be great.

EDIT: Do you know if "LiveChat" have this factions chat itself?

Owner system is replaced by the more powerful Access system (/f access) which also works for players and entire factions which aren't part of the host faction. Faction chat is gone, sorry. The built-in support for adding those channels to HeroChat might work for you, otherwise there are at least 2 addon plugins by other authors to add it back again ("FactionChat" and "FactionsChat" here on BukkitDev IIRC).

I'm upgrading from 1.8.0. Owners are lost too, I'll examine flags and perms. Thanks.

/f c isn't working neither (/f c f ,/f c p, etc)

EDIT: Ok, like I see there is a new "own" system (I update from 1.8.0 and I though no changes of this type were happening). With the faction chat... (/f c f), I don't find how is the alternative :S.

Q. I'm upgrading from a 1.6.x version to 1.8.x. Is there anything I should know?
A. Yes, obviously many things have changed. The most important things to note of are as follows:

Permissions are no longer automatically granted, so regular players might no longer be able to use any commands. For the same standard user privileges, you can grant the factions.kit.fullplayer permission kit to your regular users.
Chat integration has changed completely. See here for some notes on how it now works.
The SafeZone, WarZone, and other territory options which are no longer present in conf.json are largely now available to all factions using flags (/f flag) and perms (/f perm). Get familiar with those two commands, they are powerful.

/f config is not working on 1.8.2 with Bukkit 1.5.2-R0.1,

When will the 1.5.2 Version be No longer Bugged? Becauze the 1.4.7 Version Crash You server.

Idk if this is a bug, but i am using the recent build of this plugin and im having loads of trouble with the permissions. I have had issues with people not being able to use the /f leader, /f perms, /f officer or /f mod, and /f desc, could you update your other page that has the whole list of commands and permission nodes because ive tried using the permission nodes there and nothing is working.

If you're on Faction 1.6.9.4, I would not recommend updating, I updated on accident and a lot of the useful commands/features were changed or removed.

for some reason, I cannot see when players change their descriptions, but all of my players can. I have the permission factions.* and i have no negating permissions for factions. Why is this? it can be very annoying

I have a really big problem. I was excited to see the herochat intergration so I set everything up and guess what. When I talk in the faction channel, I do exactly that. I talk in a channel. Anyone can see and join that channel. Same goes for Allies channel. The problem is the faction channel and allies channel behaves like a normal channel leaving us without a faction and alliance chat.

Please don't tell me this is intended :(. Any help would be really appreciated
