What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)
New In Factions 2.8
- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

- can place lava buckets in safezones (same with water) - faction alliance protection fails - also ally on a peaceful faction protection fails - all mods / admins regardless of permission can use /safezoneunclaimall (major)

Posted Apr 27, 2013guys! with the update you f4cked the plugin!! I will downgrade the plugin and i wont update it again ... Please cayorion fix it! If a faction is allied with a faction the faction which you have allied is able to grief the other faction!

It would be a lot better if there was a way we can assign custom powers with either a command or a permission so we can get this to work automatically with Buycraft!
For example, /f permanentpower <player> [power] instead of /f permanentpower <faction> [power], so we just have to insert the command in Buycraft /f permanentpower {name} XXX so whenever that player joins a faction, it adds his power to the total power of the faction.
And a permission like factions.powerlevel.XXX where XXX is the power level, so we can do this for groups.
Please make this happen!

Not really feasible in the current releases, but Olof has already done that for the 2.0 release. Source is on GitHub, with all 3 branches available (1.6.x, 1.8.x, and main=2.0).

Each one explains what it specifically does. You can use one or all of them, though you should probably use /f config to change them. Ex. /f config worldsNoClaiming world_the_end

Posted Apr 27, 2013If I want it to set factions off in world_the_end, world_nether, but on in world, do I need to enter these worlds (world_the_end, world_nether) in the config (all the lines(se example), or hold it with one of them?
Example: 1. “worldsNoClaiming”: [world_the_end, world_nether], – prevents factions from claiming land in these worlds “worldsNoPowerLoss”: [], – prevents power loss on death in these worlds “worldsIgnorePvP”: [], – Factions will completely ignore PvP damage in these worlds “worldsNoWildernessProtection”: [] – any wilderness protection options you have set will be ignored in these worlds

I need this for one of my private plugins for my server.
And it is verry handy in many cases.

The error you just posted a bit ago:
I guess you've updated since then.
As for the owner system, it was replaced by the more powerful access system.
/f access - view access info for the chunk you're in, if you are able to view it
/f access p SomePlayer - add/remove access to the chunk you're in for the specified player
/f access f SomeFaction - add/remove access to the chunk you're in for the specified faction

The error you posted clearly indicates version 1.7.5. You will indeed want to download 1.8.2.

You're running 1.7.5 which is rather outdated at this point. The owner functionality was added a few versions after it.

Faction chat is definitely removed as it was conflicting with many other chat-related plugins. It will require a separate plugin, which I understand there is FactionChat and FactionsChat plugins. Or the integration with HeroChat channels might work for you.
In 2.0 it's possible there will end up being a more official chat addon plugin, but no promises.

In HeroChat versions that support channels, faction and ally channels are added.
Upgrading from 1.6.x to 1.8.x is fully supported. Downgrading is not supported. However, as 2.0 will use a completely different data system, upgrading to it won't be possible.
