What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Why are so many people like you running new CraftBukkit builds with old Factions builds that aren't compatible with them? Use 1.6.9.4 or 1.8.0 and you absolutely will not get that error. Check the file listing for CraftBukkit version compatibility, for fuck's sake.

Really want to try this plugin, but currently the console is being spammed with this large error. pastebin Huzzah!

The error begins as soon as the server starts, and the console spam eventually becomes so intense that the server crashes. Usually in about 15-20 minutes. Between start and spamcrash, everything appears to work fine.

Believe me when I say I googled the snot out of it before I came here seeking help. I saw many similar complaints, but no solutions.

I'm using the current bukkit RB 1.4.7-R1.0 I've tried faction builds 1.6.9.4, 1.7.8, and in desperation the "latest stable release"

The only other plugins I have are Worldedit, Worldguard, Worldborder, PermissionsEX, Commandbook, and Serversigns. Also, not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm currently using BukkitGUI.

I only get this error with the Factions plugin enabled. I've run out of ideas on how to fix this major problem. Our community clamors for something other than Towny, and Factions seems like it would mix things up in a good way. Any help from someone who has figured this issue out would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I may have figured it out. Trying the delicious combination of the Bukkit Dev build #2632 and Factions 1.6.9.4. No error so far. Plea retracted for now.

You're using outdated Factions version 1.6.9.2 on a newer CraftBukkti build, which isn't compatible.

Is there a permission node for admins/owners to be able to open chests in factions you do not belong to?

In 1.7+ it's a flag (/f flag). Also of interest is /f perm.

How do i remove chest protection? I have this on my config but it still dosnt work! How do you remove the Faction tag before your name?? It makes the chat hard to read plz heelp!!

We can block commands in enemy territory and neutral territory, can we please block commands in ally territory?

Just posted a ticket because there is an issue with cancelling every chat event. If you listen with another plugin to monitor every chat event is triggered as cancelled and the new created chat event is really just the old chat event modified but set to cancelled.
