What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)

- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

Posted Feb 11, 2013Again, I ask if you guys are adding protections for faction with no players online. I cannot find a config for it unfortunately. I'm simply requesting that it prevents explosion damage, or for example, lava from entering the offline faction's territory, as I feel it's unfair to some players. I understand if you don't have time for it. You guys are running a great plugin despite this. Thank you.

You misunderstand. The method depends on whether you're using a 1.6.x or 1.7.x+ version. So let me be more clear: what version are you running?

This goes out to the creators of this plugin. An idea that would defiantly help me out and many other people is the fact of per world prefix's. If at all possible, this is just an idea, could you make the faction tag only appear in the worlds you've configured. Even better would be to be able to disable factions all around in a different worlds. I'm not here to criticize just ideas that could help us all out. You've done an amazing job with this plugin and hope to see it get better. I hope these two considerations could help the progress of this plugin

Posted Feb 10, 2013Hey, I have a problem with the Chat. Everytime when i write something it come double. I use EssentialsChat and the first is: (Essentials: "[Factions] {Displayname}: Mess
The normal Configuration from Essentials with group etc.
and then the default Configuration from Factions <Tag Name> Mess
but how i can deactived it?

You should be able to do that with WorldGuard through our "worldGuardBuildPriority" setting (/f config worldGuardBuildPriority true). Otherwise that can be done for any chunk in newer 1.7.x+ releases through the /f access system to allow specific factions or players.

Depends on what version of Factions you're running.

That might be more of a problem with "autoLeaveAfterDaysOfInactivity" set too high or disabled, but on a very large server like yours I see it could still be a problem. It might be worth us (me) writing a special task thread for that which does the autoleave task in smaller chunks to keep it from locking the system if there is a massive amount of player data to check through.

I run a populated factions server, and when ever i have a large amount of players, when the automatic faction dispands, it will cuase a thread-lock / lag spike.
Noticing the only thing in the server.log every time the spike happens, is the faction automatically dispander.
I checked this with 425 people online.

I have a problem. If I am in war with another faction, I can't open chests of them. I want that to change. How do I do that? I tried to change that in config, but it just re-created itself. Any ideas?

Posted Feb 8, 2013Hi in my spawn area, which is claimed as a safezone, users have shops, claimed with world edit, however i can set them as the owner of the plot but they cannot build because it is in a safezone. How do I cope.

I was just wondering how I could make a bigger faction home. Whenever I leave 15-16 blocks of my faction home, it changes to Wilderness, and then it comes back to my faction. Is there any way that I could make the faction home radius larger?

Posted Feb 8, 2013I don't want people to claim land in or near spawn. How can I do this with world guard? I know that I can just claim it as a safe zone but the claims chunks and I need it to be specific. Also spawn is very big and it would be hard for me to claim all of it. Can I block ( /f claim) at spawn with world guard?
