Posted Dec 22, 2012I installed 1.8.0 and notice that there is no faction chat anymore. Is this a feature that will be back, or should I look for something else to allow for private faction chats?

Your tags.json file is apparently corrupted. Did you manually edit it? Whatever the case, you can simply delete it to have a fresh uncorrupted file generated.

You can specify a radius when making a claim.

Good idea. Still a good idea for you to claim safezone. But yet. Takes too long to claim for big spawns.
------I have a solution. Factions should add an optional worldguard support. so admins can claim safezones with regions!

When trying /f in-game, nothing happens.
Using CB 1.4.6 dev and 1.8 factions

Posted Dec 22, 2012Idea: Can you make it so that users can't claim land that is claimed by World Guard?, if they own the world guard region then they can claim, can you do that?

The better question: what has happened to your basic abilities to run a Bukkit server and handle whatever permission plugin you've chosen? Also FAQ FAQ FAQ FAQ FAQ FAQ FAQ.

Posted Dec 21, 2012I am OP and have the admin faction permission, but cannot use any command like /f home or /f who or /f tag, basic things like that show up as no permission. And before updating to the current faction version chat was fine but now the chat shows FACTION instead of the faction name. What has happened to this plugin?

Haven't tested it, but it should work fine.
EDIT: also:
@Raymanic
Factions doesn't currently link to any NMS or CraftBukkit code, only Bukkit code. Well, other than the GSON lib in CraftBukkit. That thankfully means that Factions is unaffected by that admittedly unfortunate change by the Bukkit team to change their internal package names with every Minecraft version.

It probably wouldnt be, ever since the Bukkit team decided to become idiots and break plugins on every update, we'd need to wait until Factions release a 1.4.6 version, or maybe get a Jenkins page for Dev builds.

@paulj1x
That's available through a faction flag in 1.7.x+ (/f flag). You should also check out /f perm.

Posted Dec 21, 20121.8 is working really well for us under 1.4.6, but we really miss the "permanent" feature earlier versions had. We used this to protect spawn castle and other admin areas and the admins were still free to join other factions. Is there a way to do this with 1.8?

Posted Dec 21, 2012So does the latest faction work with EssentialsChat?
Right now when I talk is "[Faction][Faction] 1born2kill: hi"
I need to replace [Faction] with the name of my faction, and also delete the duplicate [Faction] ...
Thanks.

At least 1.8.0 Factions is working on 1.4.6 CB. Can't prove whether 1.6 and 1.7 Factions work too...
