What is Factions?
With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.
Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.
Install
- Stop your server.
- Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
- Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start your server again.
- Configure (Optional)

- Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
- Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
- WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
- Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
- Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
- 1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
- Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
- Performance - Further work on improved performance.
- Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

I have been adressing this issue since half a year now but i still get ignored. HeroChat themself are insolent enough to do nothing about it and blame it on everything else. And factions doesn't seem to care aswell. For example the World-Aliases dont work in HeroChat too, i have been adressing that since a long time too but they simply (sry for my language) dont give a fuck.
And the problem is the channel chat system HeroChat is using, factions can't really handle it.

I've tested multiple versions of Bukkit, Factions, and Herochat, all with the same results. For 1.6.* Factions no matter what version of any plugin or bukkit build, setting "chatTagEnabled" to true totally breaks Herochat and enables vanilla chat.
On the 1.7.* Versions, "chatParseTags" set to true doesn't do anything, even with your updated tag formats listed in various posts. In addition, setting "chatParseTagsColored" to true will cause chat to double, showing a vanilla chat, and herochat.
I stripped down the dev server to those two plugins only, tested several builds and versions of everything for hours and for the life of me cannot figure out what is causing these problems. I know other servers use this combination (including massivecraft) and so have I in the past. If you could help me figure out what is causing this odd plugin behavior it would be greatly appreciated.

Update to the latest dev build please! http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/view/01678_1.4.5-R0.3/ Earlier versions are too buggy and the most recent one can't work with Factions! So, I have my server stopped until a update :/ I tried to compile the source (latest changes) but didn't work :(

Could you maybe allow to block Enderpearls from teleporting people into foreign territory?
I want people to be able to have bases with open roofs, like a classic castle/fortress and still be safe on a PvP server.
I made a quick and dirty but working plugin in Python for this:

But it would be cooler to have this function in factions itself.
Having an additional command like /f BlockEnder for faction admins/mods to turn this on and off would even be cooler.

I seem to be having an issue with Factions 1.6.9.3 and Herochat on one of my dev servers. Whenever "chatTagEnabled" is set to true, the Faction's plugin seems to take chat over and return it to a vanilla style minecraft chat. If set to false, Herochat's format will then again display. I've used Herochat and Factions together before as many other servers do so I know it works. Can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanks in advance :)

It already does this, if you set it to automatically remove players from a faction for inactivity.
If they log in, their timer will reset.

Posted Dec 14, 2012I have then new update (1.4.5) but when people talk in the chat that are part of a faction their faction prefix is not colored... I can see the coloring letter in front of the word but its not colored. For example When someones talking in my faction the message looks like this: a*NewHopland rDreid1 (message)

I hope your joking... This has been in factions I believe for a very, very long time.
It removes a player from a faction after a certain amount of time, thus once all users have been removed it removes the faction...
