What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

So offline protection still exists, but just in the form of a general config option? Any other important features removed?

The 1.7 branch should be pretty stable at this point. It does have several features removed that people might or might not care about (like online/offline distinction to certain faction protections, individual protections for different types of explosion rather than a unified explosion protection, etc.), and it's not fully documented even in the changelog notes. So, something to try out before switching to if possible.

Mobs can spawn outside a SafeZone and wander in. They just won't attack you while you're in the SafeZone. Otherwise, you should double-check your server startup log to make sure Factions loaded properly.

I just updated this plugin, along with adding World Guard, World Border, and NoCheat+. And when I restarted my server the log looked fine, but when I joined the game I saw mobs all over my safezone!!! HELP PLEASE I even deleted all the plugins and reinstalled each and everyone of them... still mobs are spawning in the safezone

hay i hava found wat the factions has bugd!! the essentialschat bugs the factions but if u do it away the pex or manuadd will brake so u can update the factions for teh essentialschat plz

I am using 1.7 and I have not had an issue with it yet. I have been running 1.7 on my main server with about 70-80 online at a time and it runs beautifully.

Are the /f config commands not working with 1.4.2? I am op on my server and I am trying to get the factions set up how we want but I don't have access to the actual file. Can you tell me if there is anything I can do? The guy who owns the server is not as active as I am so getting him to do stuff can be difficult at times.

Hi,
For some reason whenever I speak in faction or alliance chat, my message also appears in main chat. My members don't seem to be having this problem though, only people with '*' permission. Is this a problem with ChatManager perhaps? Any guidance on how to fix it would be great.

i have problem if u talk it say a*thefacname r< that all are wite u can fix it it dus do it 2 whit normal red name it iis c*fac name r< and in the consol it say [factionplus] Factions version 1.6.9.2 [factionplus] economu intergation is off [factionplus] hooked intro WorldEdit! [factionplus] hooked intro WorldGuard! u can fix it

Hello I have a problem with "chatTagPadAfter".

Right now I have my Essentialschat format like this:

<{FACTION}{DISPLAYNAME}> {MESSAGE}

and "chatTagPadAfter": true so if I understand correctly chat should be displaying like this. for ex. <FactionName Prefix Kzkas> blabla But instead it's like this: <FactionNamePrefix Kzkas> bla

How can I fix this problem without adding space in to before prefix in permissionsex, cause then players without fc in chat is like this: < Prefix Kzkas> blaba

If you downgraded from 1.7.x to 1.6.x, that's entirely on you.

You can do this in 1.7.5+ through the Access system, which is effectively an improved replacement for Ownership. Any number of players and even entire factions can be granted access to a specific chunk of territory.

Can you please make it so you can allow members outside of a faction to be added to a claimed chunk's owner list? This would make renting out land to outside members possible. Thanks!

So far no complaints from my members. :)
Still not home, but I monitor chat/commands while at work.

Hopefully with the performance tweaks you made I can add a few other things to the server.
