What is Factions?

With this plugin players group up in Factions. You claim land as your own and build your base. Factions is a self serve anti griefing system. Leaders control who can can edit their faction land.

Factions is also about diplomacy and war. You declare wars and forge alliances. You fight over land and manage your monetary expenses.

Install

Stop your server.
Put MassiveCore.jar in your plugins folder. Download MassiveCore here on BukkitDev.
Put Factions.jar in your plugins folder.
Start your server again.
Configure (Optional)

New In Factions 2.8

Reworked Commands - /f rank, /f invite, /f flag and /f perm.
Added Commands - /f setpower, /f status, /f unstuck and /f tt.
WorldGuard - Readded a simple integration.
Tab Completion - Tab completion now available for everything!
Interactive Text - Clickable buttons for list and help commands.
1.8 Titles - Optionally used for territory info.
Animals Flag - New flag similar to the Monsters flag.
Performance - Further work on improved performance.
Bug Fixes - Loads of minor bugs were fixed.

When will the 1.4.2 version come out? And is there a version safe for 1.4.2 right now?

I found a temporary solution to everyone with the a and r letters being placed into your chat tag. Just completely remove it by using "/f config chattagenabled false". Rather not have the F tags at all than them being messed up.

Just glancing at the related code I can't see any problems with it which might cause something like that, and nothing has been changed there any time recently. It looks like people who are factionless can deposit to the Wilderness faction though, which I suppose doesn't necessarily make much sense...

You still cant put money on the faction bank, it deletes all your f money.
Looks like it sends all the money to the wilderness bank.

I'll probably be making the official releases tomorrow along with full changelists, barring any major problems coming up. Until then you can check the commit history on GitHub for a more rough list of changes.

There already is one. Factions 1.7.4 Alpha works perfectly with the most recent Tekkit. I would know, I use it myself.

i installed this plug in... but everytime i talk in a faction i get a (faction name) r<Togakure>

i tried looking over the coding but i didnt find anything... anyone know?

Whenever I type in chat with factions it puts "aPvPGods r<[Owner]austinwinans1> *Insert Message Here*". How would I remove that a and r? Its rather bothersome.

We are using 1.7.7 beta on 1.4.2 CB and all is working great.
Only the bank is broken, if you put money on it then your money is gone :p

On the other hand, would it be too much to ask for the Tekkit team to update to a newer version than 1.2.5, which is quite outdated at this point? I don't personally have Tekkit or the desire to look into the compatibility problem, much less release a special build just for it with changes that won't work in any other CraftBukkit build which is up-to-date.
Our source is available and anyone else who actually needs such a modified build is welcome to make one for themselves and even provide it for others to download if they want.

Hey bro, would it be too much to ask for you to make a backport of Factions 1.7.7 for Bukkit 1.2.5? Factions 1.7.x is the only branch that works on Tekkit and Tekkit is stuck on MC1.2.5. The last version of Factions in the 1.7.x branch that will work on Tekkit is 1.7.5 which is missing a command that many find crucial - /f access (called /f owner in the 1.6.x branch).

I don't know if you're aware but a lot of Tekkit servers use Factions, and having this particular command available would make many people happy. I'm not asking you to support Tekkit at all; we just need a backport for an older version of plain Bukkit. I'm no Java dev but I imagine it's not too hard. :D

I'm having one annoying problem with factions that has haunted me for quite a while. My problem is that I have a hard difficulty PvP server and with some restrictions to make it harder such as cooldowns/warmups on commands so it won't effect PvP. I have BoosCooldowns as the cooldown/warmup system, it works on /f home and all other command except for when they type in " f home " it ignores the cooldown/warmup and teleports them instantly. How do I disable the " f home " and only have it so they can only type in " /f home ". This happens to all commands in factions. All I need to know is how to disable that it requires slash. Everything else is fine.

Please help me. I've banned so many players for doing this and i'm unable to disable this.
