Important information on this project in light of recent events.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

its greate plugin, but without this options i cant use it on my server... i would like to make "pet selector" item very rare and cool item! Only for PRO :)
edit. I only dont understand why this pet selector always disapperd... why you did something like this?

@drkakaq That would be a very empty menu for a lot of people. Wouldn't it give people motivation to donate for the Pets they haven't got already?
@JaackMC It's a pain for admins to install dependencies, so DisguiseCraft is not an option (not that I would use it anyway). And AFAIK, skins are client-side. Humans are possible if I alter the entity hierarchy I already have. That will take time though.

Posted Oct 22, 2013Can you make it possible so that people can only view the pets they have permission for rather than just having a red name? I.E. only show the pig pet if they have perms for the pet pig and same goes for the pet menu.

i install this plugin, but then player left the game then pet selector dissaperd from his equipment - is there any way to save pet selector for players who have it?
on my serwer only players with finish SPECIAL QUEST get - pet selector.
They should not lose it when they leave the game.... They should lost it only if they die...

Posted Oct 19, 2013Could you please add the functionality to disable ride/hat functions show it won't show up in the pet selector/menu anymore? Could you also make it possible to change the [EchoPet] tag before all messages, so I can make all the colors in a message match?
