Important information on this project in light of recent events.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

@winter4w Dude...1.6.4 was released literally 4 hours ago. Honestly, give me a break...
EDIT: Also, for a plugin like this, do you know how much effort and pain it is to update? That's pushing the limit a lot by asking for an immediate update.

Posted Sep 19, 2013Think you could add a boolean option that would make the bone non-useable? When I say that, i'm interested in it sitting in the players hotbar disallowing them to move the bone out of that specified hotbar slot or drop it using their minecraft drop button.

Posted Sep 19, 2013@matedgo I'll fix the first issue. And for the Pet Selector number, 8 actually means that last hotbar slot, as per the vanilla Minecraft code. I'll have to alter that to make it more user friendly.

I still show : [EchoPet]in the chat, with nothing after. If i delete them , the config autorecreate them... so how can i disable message ?

Posted Sep 19, 20132 bugs in last dev. When you type /pet remove it is not removed, better to say when you tp/relog pet comes again. Second one is that pet selector always goes to slot 9. Even if there is in config slot 8.

Also when will you add a way to remove sentence :p ? like if we put '' instead of a string (to show nothing to the player) cause it's quite annoying p

Yes they move, when i got closer to them they got crazy and move like 1000 miles around... and they get teleported on me then, they move again at 10 miles... etc O.O

Posted Sep 17, 2013@matedgo The name of the items change colour. The unnecessary 'spam' is a bug and has been fixed already (dev builds).
@SkittlezCreations The flying backwards only occurs in Creative Mode, and I haven't yet found a fix to it. And I've recently fixed not being able to move the horse while riding (Build #78).
@Shooty_ Depends what strange behaviour you mean. If you are referring to the fact that the horses didn't move, I fixed that (Build #78).
@GameplayerHD Permission isn't needed to open the data menu. I'm not sure what might be your problem :|.

Tried the latest build, but users arent able to open the pet selector menu or pet data menus. The got all needed permissions, maybe im missing something?
Read your previous responds in the comments, and i have those permissions added. requireDefaultPerm is set to false, but added perm incase.

@BryanChung: Go The permissions have been changed from 2.0 onwards to echopet.pet.<type> for the main command. That's the only change I've made. Make sure that requireDefaultPerm is set to false if you don't have echopet.echopet in your perms file. That was the transition option from v1.5.

Other related things are when pets sometime fly backwards if you double space bar when flying on them im not sure if this is only me or if i have a plugin thats messing around with it. I'll let you know if i find out what is causing it.
