EchoPet
Important information on this project in light of recent events.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

I checked to see if there were conflicts and always use the latest builds of spigot, and it still fails to work
What really freaks me out is that my friend is using the EXACT same jar I use (I sent him a copy) and it works flawlessly for him.
I ran /ec:pet and I get the same "Unknown Command" line

EDIT: Just realised that I haven't done an official release in quite some time...So 2.0.6 will be out hopefully before the end of next week! :D.

Posted Jul 26, 2013There is a dupe bug for it! When i go on a pet it takes my boots off and puts them in my invent. I then do /pet remove and the boots are still on and i have a pair in my invent. Please fix it xD

@Theproterror I'm starting to implement PetAttack events and methods that will properly handle that, but this feature won't be accessible without the Developer API (or so I have planned). And as for skills, many can also be added using the Dev API. I know I'm referring to it a lot, but it really will allow a large amount of extension to the plugin. I know that your Spider suggestion is possible ;). Dimension-Specific Pets were removed early into the development of 2.0.6. Pets go into all worlds now to stop confusion with a MySQL Database (if it's active). Also, shoot me a PM so we can talk further about translating the plugin :).
@gamesforlife9 All you need is a permissions plugin, like PEx or GroupManager.

Posted Jul 25, 2013Bug report: When I use teleport command such as teleporting to people, or warps such as /spawn - or even command blocks that teleport me to another place, my pets just completely disapeer until I disconnect and re-connect.
I think they should teleport to me after ANY teleport command, anything that teleports the player, should teleport the pet too - I looked through the config several times and tried adjusting different options which didn't work, what's weird is my friend came on my server and he teleported fine with his iron golem, not sure if it's just pet-related, but my creeper pet won't teleport with me however, please fix this - this is by far the best pet plugin I've used thus far.

Mobs could had atributs like atacking when other player atacks you, and like config file to edit a damage that pet will do.
When you ride like Spider the skill he will get should be like claiming up walls with bat or chicken could be flying for 3 sec.
Make pets able to be on difrent world by setting in config file "support worlds: true" that would be usful!

Hello, I love your plugin! But can you maybe fix the Slimes teleporting to me 24/7? So I have a slime and I'm right in front of it (like 5 blocks) and it just teleports. When I am flying they actually follow me. Was this meant to happen because slimes are slow? Thanks! Never mind Addkid already posted this. Hope it gets fixed! Thanks :D

Perhaps you accidentally added the permission node to the wrong group? Otherwise, I think you would be stuck with your donators doing that. Maybe you should just add it as a rule to not do that. Check the pets file in your server to see who has what pets. Im not the plugin author, but thats my two cents.
