Important information on this project in light of recent events.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

All of these mobs are now independent entities, which is why the plugin is taking quite a while to make. For example, a Zombie Pet now has no link back to its original form. While it takes some time to code, this format now makes new entities possible (such as the Wisp Pet). I am unfortunately no longer adding EnderDragons as pets, as they are extremely hard to control and require high maintenance. It's highly likely to produce errors, considering that EnderDragons are actually made up of multiple "ComplexParts".
@broluigi Yeah, I'll make it configurable. I don't, however, want to go too far into an RPG style plugin, as this was originally intended as a donator perk plugin ;). There's a fine line between how far I'm willing to take it into that style of plugin, and this is a similar consideration as with making pets able to sit down (or hang, in a bat's case).
@Eleenrei How come it is sending the Console an extra message? Can I jump on your server and take a look?

@jazeyen So basically...add in the 'villager' option for Pig Zombies? I sure can ;)
@Eleenrei WorldGuard might be blocking pets spawning. If you don't get any message in-game then something is interfering. If this is the case I'm going to need more information to solve your problem.

Posted May 31, 2013DHS105 While messing around with NBT tags for mobs I realized making a baby zombie pigman takes away his hat BUT when you turn them into baby villager pig man their head shrink down to match their body which is really cool if you've ever seen it if not my best description is basically a pigman that's one block tall. If you don't believe me test it out for you self make a baby villager pigman and so all I ask you is why isn't villager an option for pigmen? Really try it out for your self. Although I do apologize that at the moment I can't post or find a photo of one just trust me and find it out for your self.
