EchoPet
Important information on this project in light of recent events.

Quote from DSH105:The forums have now been enabled and can be accessed via the navigation bar. More importantly, I'm interested in your input towards the new pet attacking AI to be implemented in EchoPet v3.
If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

| Great for donator perks! | |
| Pets are greatly customisable, through the extensive Command Base and PetMenu | |
| A Custom AI makes all Pets focused on specific goals, handled closely by the core of the Plugin | |
| All mobs can be Pets, even human entities | |
| All events fired by the plugin are accessible through the EchoPet Developer API | |
| The API also makes it possible to add many new and interesting features to the limit of creativity | |
| Support for MySQL databases |
Note: The Developer API is only available in v2.0.6 and after
All information can be found on the official EchoPet Wiki, which can be accessed using the button above

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.

Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

Posted Sep 11, 2014Hi there I have a working version of this now on our server, and I am setting it up, but im a little confused about the permissions.
I want it that players can only get a certain pet, but be able to access all the features for each pet, so do i have to add each permission separately and not use echopet.pet.* or is there an easier way around this, I am using Pex for my permissions.

The most recent version of spigot has removed echopet from the blacklist:

Just need the working 1.8 version of echopet :-)
Thanks for the hard work!

Wait for development builds. They don't need approval from the bukkit dev staff. There is no version supporting spigot 1.8 yet.

Posted Sep 9, 2014Latest update of Spigot allows to load EchoPet - but from where can I take the newest version of EchoPet ? There is no Bukkit Dev stuff so there are no new jar approvals. The latest dev build instantly crashes all clients when I create pet.

Posted Sep 9, 2014DSH105, check the last update of Spigot:
"Allow the EchoPet plugin to be loaded. We understand the developer is working on a release which will support 1.8 and as such we wish it to be able to run. Please do not run this plugin unless you are using the 1.8 version."

Posted Sep 8, 2014Hi Could you make an update of echopet for 1.7.10 because anytime I try to use a command it says, "EchoPet 2.3.3-B408 is not compatible with this version of craftbukkit. Please update the plugin" but there is no update...

No, I haven't. The latest dev build that I was using doesn't even have a plugin.yml in it.

Well thanks for your quick response and I appreciate that you gave some idea of an ETA.
I did hear about Bukkit and I'm disappointed in Mojang. I wish you well in your exams - Good luck!

Posted Sep 7, 2014An Independent Goodbye.
What this means for the future of EchoPet is still unclear. There will likely be an official build for Spigot 1.8 made public (within the next 2 weeks or so, depending on exams).

I can't upgrade to latest version of spigot without echopet :(

Posted Sep 6, 2014Great plugin, but one fatal bug.
Wearing your pet on your head will result in the inability to teleport anywhere.
If you can fix this, please do. Thanks.

As mentioned below if you can provide a build compatible with the latest spigot protocol hack I would be more than willing to make a contribution to your project. A plugin like this, especially EULA compatible is very hard hitting to lose during a time like this where we will most definitely be without new CB/Spigot builds for a very long time.
