Important information on this project in light of recent events.

If EchoPet is not loading on your Spigot 1.8 build and your server is outputting "Skipping loading of EchoPet as it does not work with Spigot 1.8 builds!", please try running a later Spigot patch. I can't do anything about older Spigot releases blacklisting the plugin (preventing it from loading).

The future of this plugin is still being determined.

Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.

EchoPet is a simple Donator Perk plugin designed to add Pets that follow players around on their adventures throughout Minecraft. All Pets are custom entities spawned and controlled by the plugin.

EchoPet comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for EchoPet to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the EchoPet directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

Posted Aug 24, 2014one question does the menu's get updated on the permission they have so for example the pet spawn menu shows all mobs if i only give perms for squid sheep and creeper will the menu then only show those or all the mobs?

Posted Aug 22, 2014The plugin is generating very many errors at some point and its crashing the server every liek 2-3 hours it happens when people manage to glitch their way to having more than 1 pet following them :S

Posted Aug 17, 2014NO ONE ON 1.7.9 USE THE PLUGIN.
It crashes your server and sometimes is bad if you have a host as it makes a port error. The process needs to be killed by your host..

You can give that group the permission for one pet with echopet.pet.type.(type) and all the other things associated (like name, call, toggle, hat) with echopet.pet.type.(type).*

Posted Aug 15, 2014Love the concept of the plugin, but I'd like to report one issue and one bug.
Bug: When creating a pet with a baby rider, the rider will reset all attributes (except name) when you relog or hide & show. For example, a baby blacksmith villager rider will turn into an adult farmer villager after you log in and out.
It does, however, write the rider information to pets.yml. But when recalling the pet again, it doesn't take that information, instead it overwrites the rider stats and turns it back into a 'regular' one.
Issue: Flying creatures such as bats, squids and ghasts fly really low. Not only does this look bad, but in the case of bats, they are unable to follow you over a one block slope, getting stuck.
Getting stuck and flying so low basically make these types unusable as pets.
Would it perhaps be possible to increase their default altitude by one block?

Posted Aug 14, 2014Is there a way to have people buy 1 pet and then they have that? I don't want my donors to spawn whatever they want, i would prefer them be able to select a pet and pay around 50 cents for it (using buycraft). Please Reply.

I will say though, that human pets do not get there skins when named someone else.
