A Google Maps-like map for your Minecraft server that can be viewed in a browser. Easy to set up when making use of Dynmap's integrated webserver which works out-of-the-box, while also available to be integrated into existing websites running on Apache and the like. Dynmap can render your worlds using different renderers, some suitable for performance, some for high detail.
Components allow you to add/remove functionality to make Dynmap suit your needs. Using the components Dynmap comes supplied with, there is support for chat balloons, web-to-game chat, and configurable markers, areas, and lines.
Features

Installation
Copy dynmap-*.jar into your plugins directory. If you are upgrading, delete the previous dynmap-*.jar - you do NOT need to delete the plugins/dynmap directory or its contents.
If you are running a separate webserver (like Apache) you may need to copy the files from 'plugins/dynmap/web/' to a directory in your http-root and follow this guide. When upgrading, make sure you also upgrade the copied files.
First time use
When you start CraftBukkit, you should be able to navigate to http://yourserverip:8123/ in your browser. In case you are running CraftBukkit on the PC you are currently working on, you can navigate to http://localhost:8123/. You should be able to see the players who are in-game. Note that the map is not yet rendered, therefore the background will be black.
If you are planning on using the HD renderer, now would be a good time to do so. Enable 'deftemplatesuffix: hires' in the top of configuration.txt. More information about deftemplatesuffix is available at Base plugin settings.
If you just want to see Dynmap work, use the following command in-game: /dynmap fullrender. The wiki contains more information about commands and permissions. The map should reveal itself gradually in the browser, give it some time. Progress messages indicate that Dynmap is working and will show when the render is completed.

Dynmap Add-Ons:
Both to demonstrate the API, and to help manage the growth of this already-huge plugin, we've started producing additional plugins for Dynmap. All of these will depend on Dynmap and interface through its APIs, but only need to be added by folks that are interested in the additional function they provide:
- dynmap-mobs: Provides marker layer for real-time position of selected mobs on dynmap maps.
- dynmap-residence: Successor to the 'regions' support for Residence in Dynmap, with live update of Residence changes
- Dynmap-WorldGuard: Successor to the 'regions' support for WorldGuard in Dynmap, with live update of WorldGuard changes

Disclosure
This plugin utilizes bStats.org plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to bstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version

Posted Aug 14, 2012Hi, im having an issue where I threw the new dynmap jar is and didnt touch the config from 1.2.5 and I just get errors like crazy, I had to pull it from the server to keep the server up and do not have the log unfortunately. I believe it was saying something about shaders and texture packs in the errors if that helps at all. Thanks in advance.

Posted Aug 13, 2012For some reason the most recent version of Factions wouldn't load, so I removed that, along with the Dynmap plugin for it, then I changed my worlds.txt to include maps for the "Surface", "Flat" and "Cave" views of my world. Now it's working, but I don't know exactly what fixed it.
CORRECTION: This is definitely some related to loading the Tekkit mod support: if I enabled all of the mods (in the "configuration.txt"), I got "cave only", but if I disabled all but some core ones (IC2, BuildCraft, Railcraft) it loaded my maps just fine.

Posted Aug 13, 2012Set this up on a MC 1.2.5 Tekkit server and it runs fantastic!
However, my rendered map seems to be stuck in a blue green cave view, and there aren't any other layers (like a 'surface') to view. Running a full render has no effect. (The map did work with default settings earlier, but since switch around some other settings like player faces.)
Did I botch some sort of configuration setting? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Posted Aug 13, 2012Just downloaded the latest version of dynmap, (0.70.1) first time installation and it did not make a configuration.txt file in the /plugins/dynmap/ folder. Not sure what should be in there!

They should be using your router's IP number (external IP) and not your server's IP number. Assuming you have port forwarding set up correctly, it should work.

Posted Aug 13, 2012i use port foward to run the server and if i put server on i can connect to dynmap with localhost, but my friends cant if they typ my server ip and ye they can connect to the server whats the problem?

Turn off Faction tag colors. Should fix it. It's caused by Factions cancelling the chat event and resending it as it's own event to modify the tag colors. Disable it in the Factions conf.json and it should work.

I have a Problem with my Dynmap,
I Re-Install the Dynmap files and the Jar, But it always give me the same error
"Could not retrieve Configuration error"
I'm not sure whats wrong, but i didn't use Dynmap for a while now, cause i changed to a new
Server IP. and a new VPS, Please Reply a Comment. if you have a solution!

REMINDER : Play.cubecraftteam.com is a DNS, not a main IP as you know. It doesn't effect the Dynmap. >.>

Something in your config is wrong, try starting with a fresh one and using Notepad + + to compare the files to see where the issue is. There is currently nothing to let users know there is an error in the config, or a configuration file.

Posted Aug 10, 2012I'm having a problem in this plugin. When I enter in the broweser and i write localhost:8123 but i can't see my world, i just can see the spawn and the players the map is black. I already did the command for full render and breack blocks. I don't know if the problem is i have a server 1.3.

Posted Aug 10, 2012Anyone else having issues with webchat not working. I get the chatbox but no matter what I type it just won't send to the server. I can see the chat in the server though. I must be missing something in config.
I don't know if showing that part will help but I will: (And yes I'm using Json as I'm running it through Apache)
EDIT: Using dynmap 0.80 just so you know. =P
