Description:
DwarfCraft is a plugin that allows players to improve their characters skills and capabilities. Players can pay trainers to improve their skills, which provides benefits such as increased weapon damage, decreased tool wear, increased drops from blocks or mobs, etc. Because of the training system, DwarfCraft can provide an interesting and fun RPG base for Survival MP servers that will remain relevant and interesting for casual and intense players alike.

Features:
- Players may choose to play as Dwarves or Elves. Switching resets all skills. The race names are entirely configurable.
- Races allow players to specialize in certain skills which allows them to train it past the vanilla level.
- Dwarves have 40+ skills that progress from level 0 (worse than normal) to level 30 (extremely proficient). Each skill has several effects. Most effects reach par at skill level 5. New supported skills will be released.
- Skills are improved by paying a training cost to a trainer. Server admins may place trainers and customized messaging NPC. Skill costs increased with level and balanced to encourage specialization. Example: To train"Pickaxe Use" from 0 to 1 cost 16 cobblestone. To train from 15 to 16 cost 640. At level 0 pickaxes degrade 20% faster than
normal, at level 20 they degrade about 45% slower. - Skills and Effect details are easily found through in-game commands. More Information on the Bukkit Dev Page.

There is a commands page which explains all the commands. From what u've said you need /createtrainer type that in and it will tell you everything you need. All the trainer skill names and ids are on this page too. You can also use /dccommands to check all commands.

Hey there, I was part of that server, I'm planning on making a more up to date guide for my own server soon and while I wasn't planning on adding a part on how to place NPCs and the likes I'll slot that in anyways.

Posted Apr 18, 2013Also, I'm having a hard time fiuring this stuff out. Could you make an official DwarfCraft Tutorial? The only one out there I can find is about a server and just explains how to level up, not how to actually place the NPCs and setup the skills.

Posted Apr 18, 2013I don't know if you would be willing to take on an Apprentice but I have been interested in Java programming for a little while now (especially minecraft modding/plugin creating) and if your willing to give me some help by pointing out improvements and helping me understand parts that I don't know, I'd be willing to work on the Money alternative.

Well this essential was an alternative to McMMO. Most skills however are similar or have some sort of similar skill in McMMO. I think your server would run fine but i don't think there would be a point in having both unless you remove the skills from DwarfCraft that are similar. I don't know if McMMO skills are customisable like Dwarfcraft as in this plugin you can create your own. With the money, i would have to change the whole leveling system as the calculations would have to be different for the amount of money required so it doesn't grow too exponentially.

Posted Apr 17, 2013Does this work where you can pay money for levels? Or maybe change what each thing cost? I would prefer to use money for this but I might be fine with the item type of setup. Also can it work along side McMMO? I really like that plugin and so do a lot of players on my server but it would be cool to have a plugin like this, I don't however want to remove McMMO because that is my favorite plugin other than factions.

No i've actually got a working version but i believe there was a bug with the mob drop trainers. I can release it but the bug will still be in the code somewhere i believe. It may have been fixed i'm not sure.

I uploaded the new version and it seemed to work fine. If you do find any bugs just post them here and i'll sort them out. The link is under downloads on this page but i don't know if it needs approval still for it to work for you as it works for me.

Sadly not yet TrompeOeil because of the new bukkit "crashing" security but i shouldn't really complain. I will however have an update out this weekend as the NPCLib was only recently updated.

Yes i will be working on an update this week just been a little busy with school. Hmm perms for each skill i could add that in. Also there is actually 4 races and yes you can have as many races as you want with different specialized skills.

EDIT:
Is it possible to have players that do that training rather than NPC's? I'm an Admin on a RolePlay server, and it would fit much better if there were permissions nodes for allowing training rather than NPC's.
