Description:
DwarfCraft is a plugin that allows players to improve their characters skills and capabilities. Players can pay trainers to improve their skills, which provides benefits such as increased weapon damage, decreased tool wear, increased drops from blocks or mobs, etc. Because of the training system, DwarfCraft can provide an interesting and fun RPG base for Survival MP servers that will remain relevant and interesting for casual and intense players alike.

Features:
- Players may choose to play as Dwarves or Elves. Switching resets all skills. The race names are entirely configurable.
- Races allow players to specialize in certain skills which allows them to train it past the vanilla level.
- Dwarves have 40+ skills that progress from level 0 (worse than normal) to level 30 (extremely proficient). Each skill has several effects. Most effects reach par at skill level 5. New supported skills will be released.
- Skills are improved by paying a training cost to a trainer. Server admins may place trainers and customized messaging NPC. Skill costs increased with level and balanced to encourage specialization. Example: To train"Pickaxe Use" from 0 to 1 cost 16 cobblestone. To train from 15 to 16 cost 640. At level 0 pickaxes degrade 20% faster than
normal, at level 20 they degrade about 45% slower. - Skills and Effect details are easily found through in-game commands. More Information on the Bukkit Dev Page.

I will take this all into considerations but for some reason, whenever i try to train a skill on a small private server i can't reproduce the lag. I may have to ask some friends if i can test it on their dedicated server.

Posted May 12, 2012This plugin looks very, very promising. I just downloaded and installed it, unfortunately I won't *yet* be using this plugin.
Whenever I right click a trainer to train a skill, my server lags a lot. It's a 3-6 second lag spike every time you train a skill. I have a 2 gig ram server hosted by servercraft. If the lag is fixed I will definitely use this plugin.
It would also be nice if you added in two features though.
1. The ability to turn of certain skills you don't want to use/be enabled. If this is already possible via editing the skills.csv, some documentation on how would be nice. (That way I don't mess anything up)
2. An option for players to opt out of using dwarfcraft. I assume this is what the race system will be for, when you get it implemented. However, on the main page it says "Elves play very similar to vanilla Minecraft with slight nerfs for balance (to farming mostly)". When this gets implemented I'd like for the opt out option to not be affected by dwarfcraft at all (no nerfs/buffs at all).
I hope you consider these suggestions and get the lag problem fixed, because this plugin is very awesome and I'd really like to use it. ^_^

Posted May 5, 2012It appears as though lapis lazuli ore drops ink sacs now. Improper damage value, I assume.
Also, the LookAtNext command does work and fix the head tilt, but does not save it, and the heads will revert after an amount of time.
Also, trees only drop oak wood.

Don't know what happened there, exported it again and it worked fine. I also updated the npclib so now that fixes the trainer head tilt problem and also use the new LookAtNext command to fix it too. Re-uploaded the DwarfCraft v1.2 jar so now it will work.

Posted May 4, 2012Found an exploit. With high level ore mining, one can place iron ore back down and keep breaking it to get free ingots.

Personally i think that would defeat the purpose of dwarfcraft i am going to make race specific skills but learning skills without trainers isn't a dwarfcraft thing.

Nice plugin, I wanted to implement it on my server..I already have some nice plugins, factions, guild era, mcmmo, jobs, spellcraft and others, so your system and skills could enrich the rpg style here. But.. Is there a chance to create own races and : - give specific skills to specific races - set a level of a skill and xp system to level them up ( not only by trainers )

Posted Apr 28, 2012In case no one has noticed, with the use of a mod, I found out why bread cannot be crafted. This happens with some other items as well for some reason.
When you harvest the wheat, it is getting a damage value of 7. You cannot craft bread with "damaged" wheat, which is why the undamaged admin wheat works.

Actually if you had read about 5 - 7 comments previous you would have seen my explanation for race, they haven't properly been implemented. The problem with the greeters is that i forgot to mention an arguement i have fixed it but i won't release it until i fix another bug. The problem is if you look in the greeters.config you will notice that you have to predefine the messageid and the messages. Then when you do the command you need to specify the messageid. For Example: /creategreeter 1 test Servant1

Posted Apr 25, 2012Highs, i think that is the address of where the dwarf object is stored. I get that too when I type /race. It is a common programming mistake. I hope he fixes this soon. Also greeters don't spawn for me. I guess I should create a ticket...

I don't know why GriefPrevention doesn't work maybe the priority of its events are too low but Towny and Factions work, they prevent players from breaking blocks that they shouldn't be able to.
