DragonTravel
It offers server-admins the possibility to add a new outstanding way of travel to their servers.

Features:
- Allows admins to set destinations for the dragons.
- Allows players with the specific permission to summon and mount a dragon and...
...fly flights which consists out of waypoints(as many as you like)
...fly to destinations which have been set by an admin before.
...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?

I am not the coder of this addon, but i am a coder, and i have an idea. If you implement the option in the config to alter the destination coords plus 40x (where x is optional in config), (to the right), of first given location of a player while using ptravel, the dragon should count and know the new route which is now +40x blocks to the side, before taking off. This will in many cases be enough to prevent landing straight into a protected house.

It is your fault if you don't like to set up destinations for your users. Remove the permission dt.ptravel and set some destination near som houses, as your server sounds like a citybuild server or so on, it is common that houses are next each other and therefore it would be a good idea to actually create destinations in between them. ;)

Well, i just asked if you wanted to make the travel useful, but obviously you area not interested in impoving your addon. The funktion ptravel (aswell as ctravel), as is, is still totally useless at any server respecting ppl's property among normal users.
What i said, is, i wont allow dragons flying through blocks, because the funktion is violating property. Let it be landing x blocks away by an option in the config, how hard can that be.

You are giving your players the unecessary permission dt.ptravel, that's why the can use the command /dt ptravel, you can't travel via signs to players directly, that does not work, so just remove the permission from the normal players. You can allow the dragon to land beside the house, you just have to create a destination and that's it. And no, we are not going to include a block collision-detection because it's on the administrators side to see if a dragon will fly into blocks or not, you should not set up any travels which will the dragon cause to fly into blocks. You said the problem is that you don't want your players be able to fly to private zones of other players, then just remove the permission to do so.

Won't it be much nicer to allow dragons landing beside the houses instead, and/or option for respecting blocks physics below a certain hight? Shouldn't be impossible to make that change.

Well then.. It shouldn't be a funktion for griefing servers only. Can you make an option in the config to allow ptravel for OPs and Admins, seldom UseOnlySigns: true ? and Xemsdoom: NO i would not allow dragons to destroy blocks in our servers worlds, not any. (But dragons are still going through). Your hole argument is kinda like going to the ground, since i havent said i would allow ppls' houses to be destroyed by a landing process.

If you are giving players the opportunity to fly to each other, why is it then our fault when your players are able to destroy blocks of others? You can use a protection plugin to protect player's homes so nobody who flys into a strangers house could cause any damage.... I don't really see the problem here....only that you are giving a permission to much to your players. We would have to hack into every plugin for protection, LWC, WorldGuard etc. and then somehow see if the player is in its "private zone"...I am sorry but that's to much of a effort for something which could be better handeled by removing permissions....

Posted Apr 15, 2012Will the current version allow to bypass LWC and and other kind of protection, aswell as through walls at houses, by using "Dt ptravel", to fly directly into ppl's homes, thus they dont want to have guests? This is a violating question, since you can grief homes with this.

Do you connect to your server using Spoutcraft?
If you answer one of those questions with "No", then it is normal that you do not hear any music... ;)

There is no way to really bypass that, otherwise we would tell you!
The only way to somehow achieve what you want it the one which XemsDoom named below, but this does only work if you only want the players to ride dragons inside a specific region and in this region, you would then have all monsters, notonly the MobArena- and dragonTravel-ones
We know this problem and would really like to fix it, but it is simply not possible...

You could use WorldGuard to protect the whole world against mobs but then create regions which are higher in the regionranking, which allow mob-spawning :)

oh, yes this could be, I have set in Multiverse spawn monsters false in this world, yes this could it be, then it's the same problem as in MobArena -.-
In the old Multiverse Version it worked, hmm bad, maybe do you know how I could fix this? That no monsters spawn in this world but mobarena/DragonTravel monsters spawn?

Posted Apr 13, 2012Hello I have a problem with the Version 3.0. When I create a Destination and a Station with a sign and click this sign I get the following message:
Then the music appear but no Dragon. I hear the music from travel but the dragon don't come and I stay on the ground with the music :D
Could it be because I am using Multiverse and I need this Plugin here in another world than the standart world? Na, also not working when I type in /dt mount, no Dragon :/
I am using Bukkit 1.2.5 and Spout #1093, Spoutcraft Recommend Build
