It offers server-admins the possibility to add a new outstanding way of travel to their servers.
More videos on DragonTravel (including tutorials)
Features:
- Allows admins to set destinations for the dragons.
- Allows players with the specific permission to summon and mount a dragon and...
...fly flights which consists out of waypoints(as many as you like)
...fly to destinations which have been set by an admin before.
...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?
- Is it possible to remove the dragon's health-bar?
- Is it possible to control the dragon manually?
- Is it possible to move the rider closer to the dragon to avoid him flying above it?
- DragonTravel does not start, what can be the problem?
You can find the answers to those questions in the FAQ!
Please read the paragraph above before posting any questions!

I already thought about an API for other plugins and maybe a command (e.g. "/dtserver ...) which can only be run by the server itself, e.g. by a plugin like CommandBlocks. :)
I don't know if/when I will implement it due to some time difficulties, but I think it shouldn't be a big issue once I work on DT next time.

Posted Jan 28, 2014Hi,
Thank you for this plugin. Is it possible to add a parameter to the command "/dt travel" ? Something like "/dt travel [station] [player]", it will be usefull tu use with command blocks. In fact, sign are not really beautiful ;).

Yeah, sure it could be done that way, but that would require a check if the player ist within 16 blocks of one of those waypoint to travel this path. It is the same problem as the one with the dragon-flights: You can have a perfect path - if someone starts the flight from y-value 5 he will pass through the ground before reaching the first waypoint and the nice path begins. ;)
It would rather be a second plugin to use for all entities other than dragons, but it is possible.
Only problem => I don't have the time for it and might only be able to give it a try in late summer... -.-

I actually visited this plugin thread specifically to ask that very question you just answered. After reading your response to the previous guy, I wanted to get your take on implementing it similar to how Citizen NPC's use waypoints. Instead of making the horse calculate the path, simply have players set waypoints that the horse travels.
When using Citizen NPC's, you can set a path for the NPC's to walk by clicking blocks in a row (believe max distance between 2 points is 16 blocks). The NPC will then just travel between waypoints.
Could it not be done similar with horses? Just have the horses travel the predetermined waypoint path

We discussed this topic about a year ago, but the problem is that it is much hrader so control horses than to control dragons because we would need to calculate all paths around trees, mountains, etc. to ensure horses can reach their target (if it is even possible) - dragons simply start, travel and land.
That's why we won't implement other creatures in the nearer future.

Posted Jan 23, 2014Do you think you could do something similar... but with horses instead?

Posted Jan 22, 2014I didn't expect users to create signs with coloured layout manually, so I guess this needs to be fixed in the next updste as well.
Could you create a ticket for that as well please?
Thanks for the report! :)

Posted Jan 22, 2014Have another problem, players don't have the permission to make a DT sign, however they are allowed color formatting, if they format it with the same colors DT uses, the signs work. This basically allows users to make signs with no cost.

Yeah, sure that is a quickfix, I forgot to tell you. :)
I guess I just found the error, I'll have to fix it before next update. :)

That's ok, i managed to find a temporary fix by simply removing the "amount" from the confirmation message. Everything works now since the amount paid doesn't need to be included in the message. Perhaps this information will also help u in fixing the issue. Thanks once again.

I can't promise anything, I don't have any free time until March, but maybe x3nec or another contributor can solve the problem.

Ticket has been created "188 - Error with custom prices" Thank you for your help. Hopefully this will be fixed soon as DT is rendered unusable on my server and we are planning to open soon.

The error happens in the moment after the player has been charged (which only works if the price is a decimal) and it happens because it isn't possible to insert the decimal into the variable inside the message because it is no decimal. :D
I'll take a look at it before releasing the next version, could you please file a ticket to ensure I don't forget it? :P

Not at my computer ATM but trust me it has a decimal :) As for the charge, yes it appears to withdraw the money properly but I don't even get the "say goodbye to coins" message and of course the flight doesn't happen.
Edit: Should also probably mention that I'm using economy payment not resources.

Does the user get charged for the flight?

I guess you didn't put a floating point number, but only a normal number.
I put it in the wiki, but I guess you didn't read it. :P
Even if you use payment via resources, the prices _must_ have a point in them because there is one handler for all prices which expects a floating point number. I'll see if I can change that in one of the next versions. :)
So please put "10.0" as a price if you want a price of e.g. 10 gold nuggets, not "10".
