DragonTravel
It offers server-admins the possibility to add a new outstanding way of travel to their servers.
More videos on DragonTravel (including tutorials)
Features:
- Allows admins to set destinations for the dragons.
- Allows players with the specific permission to summon and mount a dragon and...
...fly flights which consists out of waypoints(as many as you like)
...fly to destinations which have been set by an admin before.
...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?
- Is it possible to remove the dragon's health-bar?
- Is it possible to control the dragon manually?
- Is it possible to move the rider closer to the dragon to avoid him flying above it?
- DragonTravel does not start, what can be the problem?
You can find the answers to those questions in the FAQ!
Please read the paragraph above before posting any questions!

Already accepted the ticket. :)
Might be possible, but I'd need more information and I'm not surewhether this really fits the idea of DragonTravel.
Do you mean a command like /dt inv which spawns a dragon somewhere which then travels to you and offers you an inventory (a chest)? :)
DragonTRAVEL =/= DragonINVENTORY ;)

Posted Nov 10, 2013Posted a ticket on it. Just an idea but how much trouble would it be to add an inventory to the dragons and use them as airborne storage minecarts to do deliveries? That'd be sweet :D

We already received this feature-request multiple times for different animals/mobs.
This would require huge changes in the code and we do not plan to implement this at the moment.

Posted Nov 10, 2013I just had a somewhat cool idea: What if instead of a dragon, there was an option to use a bat as the mount?
That would remove the health bar shown by the dragon, reduce the framerate issues that some people get when rendering the dragon, and could be kinda cool as an alternative style of getting around :)

That's the way it works.
Ths dragons do not have a pathfinding AI which could handle this, that's why you can create flights (maybe create the first waypoint rather high to avoid this problem) and set a lath which is "safe to fly". :)

Posted Nov 1, 2013Hello, I recently downloaded this plugin, and it seems quite interesting, However if you could assist me in this problem I have. When I set the way points in a flight. It works fine, until I start flying in which then, The dragon makes its way toward the point. But it does not move at all. It goes in a straight line toward the point, going through any and all blocks in the way. If you could help me that would be very appreciated. Thank you.

OPs have all rights, if you do not want to give someone all rights, take a look at the permissions-plugins like PermissionsEx. You find a list of all permissions needed for DragonTravel in our wiki. :)

Thanks Phiwa, I am sure I will like it. Actually, my daughter has been begging for a dragon for months, so I am sure we will both like it :)
Totally not related, but when I typed "/dt flight ExampleFlight", I got "You do not have permission to use this." I then op'd me using the console, and I had permission. How do I give a user permission without op'ing them?

Wow, lol, dafuq?! :D
There really is a bunch of comments in the files which actually isn't copied by our current filehandler, but I left them inside because they do not harm anybody...at least I thought so. o.O Thanks for the feedback, this actually blew my mind.
I hope you enjoy DragonTravel after this efforts to get it running. :)

Okay, this is going to take you for a loop.
I downloaded messages-en.yml to a Windows 7 PC, and opened it up using Note.
Used VI (linux editing program) to replace content in messages-en.yml to #hello. It was 8 bytes, I restarted mine craft, and it wasn't delete, looked identical but changed to 9 bytes.
Used VI to replace content in messages-en.yml to the non-comment content of the original messages-en.yml. I just cut and pasted from the Note version on my Windows PC. No errors!
Used VI to add comments. Same errors, but changed from position 993 to position 985 (what ever that means?).
Edit messages-en.yml using Note on Windows to delete the comments, and upload using Filezilla. Same errors. Note that cat messages-en.yml showed File at the start.
So, I guess I fixed it by just removing the comments, but am curious why that is.

Posted Nov 1, 2013Yeah, but I wondered where the hell there is an '?', that's why I asked if he is using the default messages-en.yml. Since he is using it, there shouldn't be any '?' in it. :)

I may be able to help. Firstly, make sure each message has quotes around it. For example, examplemessage: "message" or examplemessage: 'message'.
If this still does not work, you can find the '?' character, and replace it with '\?' which effectively "escapes it". That should work but if not I could take a look.
