DragonTravel
It offers server-admins the possibility to add a new outstanding way of travel to their servers.
More videos on DragonTravel (including tutorials)
Features:
- Allows admins to set destinations for the dragons.
- Allows players with the specific permission to summon and mount a dragon and...
...fly flights which consists out of waypoints(as many as you like)
...fly to destinations which have been set by an admin before.
...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?
- Is it possible to remove the dragon's health-bar?
- Is it possible to control the dragon manually?
- Is it possible to move the rider closer to the dragon to avoid him flying above it?
- DragonTravel does not start, what can be the problem?
You can find the answers to those questions in the FAQ!
Please read the paragraph above before posting any questions!

Alright, sounds good. Send me a PM when you have the time and I'll see what exactly there is to translate. As long as it doesn't involve in-depth coding I'm your man.

Hey, I really planned to keep DragonTravel multi-language and up-to-date, but this didn't work because I couldn't wait for an update of the other language-files for every DT-update, but if you were willing to be the Tranaltor for the French localization, I would be happy to welcome you to the team. :)
Concerning the controllable dragons: We originally worked together with V10lator at the beginning of the project, but agreed that we would keep the two things split into two plugins (RideThaDragon for controllable dragons and DragonTravel for travels via dragon ;) ).
Due to the fact that V10lator stopped maintaining RideThaDragon a while ago and then only updated it for new Minecraft-versions until he completely stopped developing it, we thought about including this function into DragonTravel, but decided to wait with that.
Since XemsDoom left the team in December and I simply do not have the time to add such a big feature, I put it on the "Might-be-done-later"-list and there it stays until I got more time... ;)

Thanks! I'll await the next version patiently.
Also, question, are you looking to translate your plugin? I'm a native French speaker, and have a bit of time on my hand. If you can show my what needs translating I'd be more than happy to give it a shot.
Edit: As for controlling dragons, perhaps you could do a collab with the maker of this plugin? http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/ridethadragon/

Please take a look at the BIG RED LINE above the comment-field...
Can't be that hard to do, I already used a huge, ugly text-format....

Posted Mar 28, 2013Hi plugin Developer/Continuer I was wondering if it is possible in a future update to have controlable dragons eg. Be able to move them forwards using W back using S and sideways using A and D. If not possible dont worry But this would add on to a great plugin.
Yours James

We didn't put anything into the plugin.yml which the command "/help dragontravel" could give out, but you can use "/dt help 1" and "/dt help 2" to show our own help and/or take a look at our wiki (link in the banner). :)
@Precautionz
Yes, it is not optimized, but I never really recognized any problems, even on bigger servers with a larger number of players using it, it didn't use too many resources and cause significant lags.

Posted Mar 28, 2013A great plugin, but the flight is somewhat buggy and I feel it could cause unnecessary "lag" and eat RAM usage. Still great, nevertheless.
@spy85
Type "/dt help 1", and "/dt help 2".

Posted Mar 28, 2013When I do /dt nothing happens and when I do /help dragontravel it says /dt null
I am running 1.5.1 craftbukkit and the latest dragon travel version. I believe the company (aim2game.com) that I run my server off of may still be in java6. I have no idea but could that be the problem?

Thanks!, after I installed Saga, whenever someone would try the /dt command (any variation of it) it would put [Saga Command] /dt blahblah when I went back to check the server logs. Example below:
[Saga Command] TrompeOeil: /dt flight tower
Everything works fine other then that, Stats/Dest signs work, but ANYTHING that has to do with commands doesn't. I'll await an answer patiently. Thanks again.

Thanks for the positive feedback. :)
I actually cannot find the "dt"-command on Saga's "Commands"-page and the plugin doesn't register its commands on server-startup using the plugin.yml because in that case, I could have created an "alias" for the "dt"-command, so it is automatically used if another plugin uses the "dt"-command, but this way I don't really see an easy solution for the problem.
I can contact the author of "Saga" and we can try and find a solution, but that might take a while.
I created a ticket from your comment and will work on it. :)

Posted Mar 28, 2013Hello!,
First of all, great plugin. It's one of the core plugins I use on my relatively large Role-playing server. Anyways though...
Your plugin isn't compatible with Saga (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/saga/). Saga overrides the /dt root command, which is quite problematic. I contacted the Saga owner for a fix, which was changing the command names, but that didn't work. Is there something you can do on your side?

"station1" is a station, I guess. You need to put a target-destination in the third line. :)

Posted Mar 28, 2013Nice plugin and finally working but one issue with station signs. I created the following sign (use stations enabled in config):
I place the sign within the radius of the station, but it gives an error: There is no destination with that name
What is wrong here?

Why can't you use it? The latest version should work for all servers again. :)

Posted Mar 26, 2013UPDATE:
I'm really sorry guys, I failed hard when I released v1.8.8.2.1 from my hotel-room and I accidently compiled it for Java 7 again (and the BukkitDev-staff didn't recognize it :P), v1.8.8.2.2 now REALLY works for Java 6-servers, I just got back from my trip and tested it on my virtual machine!
I'm really sorry that you have to wait for another two days until the new file is approved and would really liek to post the link to the file here, but due to the fact that I was warned not to do that last time, I won't do that...
@SephGER
Thanks for the report!
@SephGER
That error tells you that you are using a Jar compiled for Java 7 on a server with Java 6 which normally should occur bcause I actully compiled v1.8.8.2.1 for Java 6 (guess I forgot something again). I'm currently out of town, so I will take a look at it tomorrow.
