Heh, it is similar I'll give you that. The idea came from all the plugins that get submitted with undocumented author join features we have to look for here on BukkitDev.

I'm a native French from Toulouse :)
@bm01
Maybe you're right, I just never saw a join message in present, since it was in past in English I thought it wasn't fit to put present there, when it was actually completely correct. I didn't notice it was meant to be in present tense and simply thought he forgot the verb (by lack of language skills). My mistake, apologies to the author of the original file, didn't mean to be so harsh on you. Even though I'm native, I'm not perfect :(
I also complete agree with the word-to-word translation. Many people do it for our english class and it just sounds dreadful. I never do it, but here as I had never seen a join message in present I thought it was a mistake. And yes, in some languages sentences can change quite a lot. I know that as I for my part speak French, English, and Spanish.
Again, sorry to venoxis1108. I saw a "mistake" and naturally corrected it, but then it appeared you were right the whole time. Hope I didn't offend you :)
Also, thanks for clearing that up NuclearW, that was the only problem with the file then, no more issues now! :)

No verb is missing, Présent and passé composé are both perfectly correct here and in my opinion the former sounds better. Sure it's not exactly the same as the original sentence, but a word to word translation is probably the worst translation one can make, you have to think about the meaning but also about how to make it easily understandable, how to make it "look" good. By the way if you look at the German translation you will notice that the word "game" isn't used, and I'm sure that's intended.
A lot of games use the present time in French for when a player joins the room / server. Also one advantage is that it makes the sentence shorter, French sentences are usually quite long compared to English ones.

That character not being right was an issue with my uploading it, it is now fixed.
As for the verb thing, I have no idea. Are you by any chance a Canadian? As the original translator is French, so perhaps the issue comes from that possible difference?

Well, I'm a native French speaker and the translation is incorrect. It's missing a verb and contains a fairly weird character... what?
Anyway, just saying. The original author of the French translation will either be realistic and find he made some mistakes, be arrogant and tell you his is better, or simply never ever notice this and that bad translation will end up there anyway.
It's weird the way localization can cause such a problem, you never know wether translations are real, correct, and awesome or evil and insulting! :(
EDIT: I actually didn't mean there even though it could seem implicit that his translation is insulting. It's just grammatically incorrect.

Actually it's a Map<String, Set<String>> that maps author names to a set of plugins they've made, and that's only populated at startup, and the plugin.yml files not checked on every player join, because that'd be silly.
Also I'll let the person who did the original French translation take offense to you.... errr, tell me which one is better.
And thank you for the Spanish, it's up now. As for direct linking, I suppose that'd be better, we'll see if I ever stop being lazy enough to move them over!

Found the language file.
French (FR-fr) translation (fixed)
Spanish (ES-es) translation
Totally support the plugin! Good luck fellow fruits!
Self-thought: Why isn't there a lemon option in the poll... T_T
EDIT: Also, I think you should most definitely link the languages on the main page directly, it would be simpler wouldn't it?

Posted Feb 18, 2013This plugin looks simply marvelous!
The French translation seems incorrect though, and there is simply no Spanish translation. Where can I get hold of the original English language file to translate?
@NuclearW
I hope you load the authors to a HashMap<List<String>, String> beforehand to check for author names and not against the actual files themselves :0

It checks every plugin.yml file for all plugins that are loaded and enabled 1 tick after the server starts, when a player joins, if they are a developer a join message is sent that includes all their plugins on one line.
