DataDisks
Always wanted to use a normal music disk as a data-holding disk?
Well, it looks like you've found the plugin to do that! DataDisks allows you to create renamed music disks and add data to them, that you can request when you right click it!
Features
With this plugin you can create renamed disks that can hold data (at the moment they only can hold text). When you create a new "datadisk", you'il have to have a black music disk in your hand. Than, you can set the name of it and the text you want it to hold! Black music disks are craftable with a configurable recipe. In the config.yml you can choose if you want a to use a "reader-block", a block (of a configurable type) that you need to click if you want to get the information on the disk, or not so you can read the disk by right-clicking it.

At the moment, there is no download link available. When the first file is approved, it will be on this bukkitdev page.
Commands
To create a datadisk, simply hold a disk in your hand and use the command: /disk <name> <data> After you've created a disk, you can use: /disk name <name> and /disk <data> to change the name or data on the disk.
Crafting recipes
This plugin uses only one crafting recipe: the one for the black disk. This is fully configurable in the config.yml! The default crafting recipe for a black disk is:

Explanation: At the moment, there are three configurable things:
- the crafting recipe for a black music disk
- the usage of a "reader-block"
- (only if you use a reader-block) the data value of the reader block
Future
At the moment, this plugin is very simple. I'm working on permissions, ranks and a function to protect a disk and make it rewritable or only writable! Also, in the future disks will even be able to hold items!

Posted Feb 3, 2013Hey i had an idea and a wishlist to be able to add music-disks in vanilla also but i am afraid it won't happen. So i am searching for a pluggin that can do this job.
I am going to start a server soon, and i want to make it more roleplay. Like rpg games i want to add music themes on my towns. I was thinking hiding jukeboxes under the streets of my town and give it a theme. Thats why i was looking for a plugin like that. This was my post on Minecraft Forums:

This whould change everything in minecraft! Imagine a server with towns where every town has a different town music theme! This will transfer us to a minecraft world beyond fantasy with unlimited choices of harmonising the enviroment around us!
The Idea Somehow we will create with a recipe a jukebox disk in minecraft and link it with the soundtrack we wish. (I haven't really think about how this can be done, but i leave this up to you to solve).
Mechanical - Additional - Optional ideas - Just add a repeating option in jukeboxes. (this is needed generally and for the existing disks. In order to create the enviroment a music theme we want, we will need for sure a repeat option) - Put many disks at a time and jukebox will play them (assuming the above) in sequence. (repeatable/or not) _______________
I want you to consider this with your plugin too to combine some things and make it even better. For example like a said in that post, the repeatable option to keep the theme alive (not only as long as the song lasts) and the playlist, or i will have to combine many music themes together and add it as 1 song.
If you manage to do these this will become the first plugin at popularity and use. I hope to see you achieve this :)
this works on latests versions? 1.4.7? will this be updated? can you add some spoilers? a video images or something? and a tutorial how to link the music whould be very helpfull for noobs at programming skills like me.
